The law of attraction is a set of principles that describe our relationship with the universe. These principles rely on our ability to direct our conscious thinking in ways that bring us what we desire.

We all have the capacity to direct our thinking in ways that attract what we want into our life, and we can use these principles to help us do just that.

These principles are universal, applying to everyone and everything in the universe. The cosmic order is governed by them, and so are the actions of subatomic particles, the movements of celestial bodies, and the behavior of animals, plants, and even humans.

According to wisdom teachings throughout the world, your reality is created by the thoughts you think and the emotions you feel. The Universe is made of energy, and everything that happens in your life begins with a thought.

"Thoughts are things," an old saying goes. And when it comes to manifesting the life you desire, there's no question that this is true. If you want to manifest the life you desire, you must start by creating a clear intention for the future—an intention focused on a specific outcome or goal—and then create a series of thoughts that will lead you to that result.

We all have dreams, goals and desires. We see their fulfillment as validation of the endless efforts we spend to achieve them. Sometimes, however, we lack clarity in the process or find ourselves racing around in circles, never really closing the gap between where we are and where we want to be. The trick is to be absolutely clear of what you’re trying to achieve even before you start putting effort into obtaining it. The opportunities for manifestation seem infinite only because there are no limitations if you break things down into small enough chunks.

The fact that you are here on this website, tells me one thing. You have definite ideas about what you want to manifest in your life. What is it that you want? I ask because the thoughts, feelings and emotions that we have in the first place will determine whether we will get what we want. Even if you are pretty clear about what it is that you want to come into your life, you may still be confused about how to go about achieving what you want in a particular area of your life.

Manifestation is possibly the most important thing to know and practice in order to create success in your life. As powerful as the law of attraction is, manifestation is even more powerful because it requires that you go out into his world and act upon what you want to attract.

The law of attraction states that you attract into your life what you think about. If your life is not going well, it's because you're holding onto thoughts of limitation and negativity.

The law of attraction is a concept in the spiritual belief system known as "the secret." It is based on the premise that all things are made of energy, and that this energy vibrates at different frequencies. Everything you send out returns to you, and whatever you focus on will be drawn to you over time.

The law of attraction has been described as "the basic universal operating principle upon which the entire creation operates," an idea taught by many religions and spiritual teachers.

It has also been called "one of the greatest hidden secrets" in history.

According to the Law Of Attraction experts, the key to attracting what you want - whether it's money, love or anything else - is to start thinking positively... and focusing on what makes you feel good.

You attract into your life whatever you focus on. This is how the law of attraction works. You are a magnet, and you attract to yourself things that are like you. If you are worried about something, or angry about something, or emotionally upset about something, then that is what you will be thinking about. You will attract more things to worry about, or make you angry, or cause you emotional upset. So the law of attraction works exactly the way it is supposed to work.

The problem is that we often don't realize how we are creating our reality. We think we are being spontaneous -- just living life and letting it happen to us -- and that our lives are a mess because of other people or circumstances outside our control. But in fact what we put out is what we get back. The problem isn't the outside world; it's us. Or, as the saying goes: "You can't attract what you want by putting out what you don't want."

If you believe that it is bad to be alone, you might fear being alone and then feel lonely. For example, you might believe that if you don't have a romantic relationship in your life, then your life isn't complete. You might think that there is something wrong with you for not having a relationship. Your thoughts can create beliefs and emotions (fear, loneliness) that can lead to the exact same behavior (seeking out romantic relationships) that you were trying so hard to avoid.

The Law of Attraction says that whatever we focus on, whether good or bad, will come into our experience. If we want to avoid bad things in our lives, then we should not focus on the bad things. The more we focus on the bad things, the more likely they are to appear in our lives.

If we want to attract good things in our lives, we need to stop focusing on the bad things and start focusing on the good things instead.

We've all heard the saying, "Thoughts become things." It's a good saying—if you spend some time thinking about it, you'll find it has a lot of truth in it.

So what should we think about? By now I hope I've convinced you that we should think about specific goals. And that we should think about them in a positive way.

What do I mean by a positive way? The most important thing is to focus on the benefits of achieving the goal and not on the costs of achieving the goal. Let me give an example. Suppose your goal is to lose weight. The costs of losing weight are well known: no more double latte macchiatos from Starbucks, no more Ben & Jerry's ice cream, no more bacon double cheeseburgers from Wendy's. But what are the benefits? How do you feel when you're a healthy weight? If you can't answer that question clearly, then work on getting to that answer before taking further action toward your goal.

The more specific your thoughts about a goal are, the better they will be for helping you achieve that goal.

The following is a list of things that have been shown to be effective in increasing goal achievement:

A) Writing down the goal (in itself)

B) Writing down specific plans for achieving it

C) Publicly declaring the goal

D) Reviewing progress towards the goal on a regular basis.

A meta-analysis of the studies that have been done on these various techniques reveals that any one of them is approximately as effective as any other -- and so, if you want to be effective in your life, you should do all the things in the lists.

But I find it interesting that there is no evidence that any of these techniques is more effective than actually thinking positively about whatever you're trying to achieve. For example, writing positive affirmations about what you're trying to achieve has not been shown to be significantly more effective than just thinking positive thoughts (without writing them down). Given how easy it is to write things down, this seems surprising. Perhaps it's because writing something down makes you think about it more, or because putting pen to paper somehow commits you more strongly to an idea. It's also possible that some of these effects are mediated by non-conscious mechanisms -- the "placebo effect" and so on.

Intention setting is one of those things that works better in practice than it does in theory.

Intention setting has its roots in the law of attraction, which is itself rooted in the ancient idea that thoughts can affect the physical world. It is a way of formalizing what people have been doing since the beginning of time: wishing and hoping and trying to persuade various supernatural entities to do or not do various things. The law of attraction was popularized by books and motivational tapes; it teaches that if you want something badly enough you can make it happen by imagining that it's already happened.

What's different about intention setting is that it claims you can use this technique to set intentions for yourself. That's where the "setting your intentions" part comes from.

Some people are skeptical about this idea; I used to be among them. But then I tried it, because I was curious about what kind of evidence could possibly be convincing to someone who didn't believe in the law of attraction, and I have concluded that intention setting works.

Setting intentions is about choosing where to focus your mental energies. It is about knowing what you want, and making some commitment to yourself that you will work toward those goals.

You make that commitment by setting an intention. And you create the conditions for it to be fulfilled by taking action, by doing things that move you closer to those goals.

The word intention comes from the Latin word meaning "to stretch." When you set an intention, you are stretching yourself toward something—toward a goal, toward a target, toward a vision of how things could be different.

When you set an intention, what do you want to stretch yourself toward? Remember that your goals are not necessarily the same as anyone else's goals. They don't have to be enormous or earth-shattering; sometimes just the act of setting a small and achievable goal for yourself can make all the difference in the world.

To set an intention is not to predict the future or try to control it; it is just to decide where you want to spend your time and attention. Once you have decided where you want to spend your time, then you can use your attention as a microscope for detail: for noticing when someone or something drifts away from your intention, and make necessary action to correct the deviation.

Another powerful tool is visualization—the ability to see your life exactly as you want it to be when your positive intentions have manifested into reality.

Visualization is such a powerful tool because it helps develop trust in yourself as well as in the universe—trust that you can create what it is you intend. That trust gives us courage and inspiration to continue when we might otherwise give up or fall prey to doubt or fear. It also gives us hope that we're heading in the right direction and will achieve our goals despite any obstacles we encounter along the way.

There is no right or wrong way to use the law of attraction. Whatever you choose to do you should always make sure that it’s working for you and not against you. The more you practice the art of manifestation, the more you will become familiar with how it works. And remember that even if the results aren’t instantaneous, they will come and they will be worth it.
