True self-discipline depends on the activation of the life of the self

How to activate the life of the self

By Melanie M HooperPublished 3 years ago 4 min read

In life, many people are eager to activate the potential and potentials of the self, and many people believe that self-discipline and self-control are the keys. True and long-lasting self-control does not come from external pressure, which often brings self-discipline in a one-sided manner rather than long-lasting.

True long-lasting self-control comes from activating the life of the self, moreover, it comes from our inner values and respect for life. When you have enough respect and love for your life, you will have long-lasting self-control.

First, activate your love for life from the origin

To awaken long-lasting inner self-control, it is most important for us to learn to activate our love for life from the source, which is the key to activating our long-lasting life.

Many people grow up without ever feeling the joy and respect of life. Some may have been treated coldly by their parents because they did not meet their parents' expectations, while others grow up because they have been belittled by others and then begin to deny their life.

Unable to feel the joy that life brings, but rather the constant heaviness of life, then this feeling brings us to a life of depression and suppression, and our inner life begins to deplete.

We are unable to delight in ourselves and even become disgusted with ourselves. We may become very distrustful of ourselves, and naturally, we are unable to have long-lasting self-control.

In this situation, our life is in a depleted state, and not only are we unable to respect life, but we may also even resent it and wonder why we are here in this world.

At this time our life is in a continuous internal depletion, our enthusiasm for learning and living slowly fades, and our inner action power is insufficient, which manifests externally as anxiety and procrastination.

Therefore, if we want to become self-disciplined, the first thing we need to do is to activate our understanding of life, and systematically recognize the nobility of life itself, so that we will not waste our life wantonly.

Second, believe that life is good enough to activate the inner self-discipline

If we believe that life is good enough, we will activate our inner self-discipline. To believe that life is good enough is essentially a belief in life, and it is a way of seeing the preciousness of every life.

It is easy for living people to numb their lives over time and not see the goodness of life. Just like a fish cannot live without water, we cannot see the magnificence and beauty of our life, so we naturally cannot activate the passion and motivation of life, and therefore cannot go on exploring.

Believing that life is good enough is the key to our continued exploration of life, and the key to our continued growth in life.

Life is good enough is not a conjecture, but through thousands of years of evolution, we have seen a breakthrough in human life, and this breakthrough is a testimony to life is good enough.

This good enough allows us to see that we cannot waste our lives. Many people who are depressed or have mental illnesses are in extreme denial of themselves and believe that they are not good enough, which causes the ego to become slow to act and grow.

Self-discipline in the true sense must be to see the beauty of self-life and to know how to appreciate the beauty of the world, to see the value of being needed, and to see a surprise that you create through your efforts and actions. The state of surprise in life shaped by these inner actions will activate self-discipline of the self.

True self-discipline and self-control come from seeing that life is good enough, and these are our courage and confidence to face life.

Third, owning our rhythm and learning to see clearly

In the process of growing up in life, we need to activate our own life, and we also need to find our rhythm. The rhythm of the self is a change that echoes our own and the environment.

When a person has her rhythm, it is often the time when she is most comfortable and at ease. When we can act by our rhythm, the more control we have over ourselves.

So true self-discipline comes from knowing how to find your rhythm, which is not to compare with others, but to find your own pace and footsteps to adapt to the environment.

In this respect, we need to know that our rhythm does not have to be the same as everyone else's, but we can gradually adjust it according to our psychology.

Following your rhythm is not living in your world, but knowing how to read the environment is a new adaptation. In fact, in life you will also find that everyone will have their rhythm, some people are the slow type, seeking to observe first and adapt later.

Others are the autodidactic type, adapting first, then making observations and adjusting themselves. Both of these rhythms of adaptation are possible, and we need to just choose the way we fit in.

Advanced self-discipline is not a program or rhythm that turns us into robots. Advanced self-discipline is about finding a rhythm of adaptation to our environment in which our inner adaptability and inner harmony are much higher, and naturally, our inner growth will be continuous and stable.

If we want to become advanced self-disciplined, the best way and method is to train ourselves and the environment to adapt and grind together, and of course, the highest degree of this grind is the unity of heaven and man.

For us ordinary people, we cannot immediately achieve the unity of heaven and man, but we can continuously adjust ourselves, respect the objective facts, get rid of the influence of emotions on us and internal consumption, and achieve the unity of knowledge and action, and then the unity of heaven and man.

When you can really get rid of the influence of emotions, really respect the facts, and return to the present moment well, your inner potential will be fully released and activated. The key to potential activation is to get rid of the interference of too many emotions but to clear your mind and see your nature, and naturally, your life will become more and more advanced.
