It's the 2020 Vision for Me
Around this time last year, my social media feed was filled with posts of people self proclaiming their "20/20 vision" into the new year. Whether it was for the ironic play on words, or for the desire to see the world in a different lens, I think it's safe to say everyone had to shift their perspective as the new year came crashing in. Maybe it came as a relief to those who made their 2020 resolutions to go to the gym, because come April, there was no such thing as going to the gym. But others experienced tragedy: losing family members, being laid off from their jobs, struggling for an income and searching for sanity.

Being Grateful In the Holidays
The Holidays are here again, and I feel totally Scrooged over. From my West Texas apartment, there's not a snowflake in sight, it's not even sweater weather, and no present is expected to be coming in or going out of the premises. That's okay though, I've got gratitude.

Xen's Declassified 20s Survival Guide
At one point we were all wearing diapers, still figuring out how to train our tongue to wrap around the word "mommy," and "daddy." At one point we were being coddled and we didn't understand what boundaries were. At one point we all blinked for too long and by the time we opened our eyes again we were pushed out into the real world (whatever that means) with sensitive bodies, overwhelmed minds, and plates filled with responsibilities and expectations. We're not babies anymore.

Creativity as an antidote for challenging times.
“When nothing is certain, everything is possible.” Mandy Hale The year of 2020 is an eventful one, to say the least. The intensity, the chaos, the bizarre changes in the society; which at times feel surreal, resembling an apocalyptic movie more than the reality. According to certain ancient texts, however - there is a bigger picture at play, something that has been gaining its momentum since 2012; namely the end of one age and the beginning of another. Everyone remembers the “end of the world” prediction connected to the Mayan calendar - apparently (like is the case with many old texts) it was not meant to be taken literally, and the correct interpretation would be - this is the end of the world as we know it.

There's a Universe Inside You
I knew I had a purpose, but why did I feel like cellophane? I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, in the early '90s between the dope dealers on Flatbush and the Haitians playing dominos on Church Ave. My mother got pregnant with me at fifteen years old, and my father was shot and killed three days after my first birthday. Growing up in Brooklyn was rough; however, I made the most of it. No matter how turbulent things were, I always found my silver lining, and I didn't give up. When I was nine, I ended up homeless with my mother, and I experienced hunger for the first time. Twenty-nine years of profound experiences gave me the grit to make something of my life and share my story to inspire other women.

A Badass Woman Who Built Her Own Life
I'm so sick of social media evoking jealousy and self-doubt. All artists and entrepreneurs across the world have one thing in common, the ultimate goal of making a living creating content they love. With that goal comes a million other familiar emotions: the up until 3am perfecting one's craft work ethic, the anxiety of quitting a stable 9-5 job, and the jealousy of others in your field excelling.

Dad, how do I?
In my sophomore year of high school, my friends and I revelled in the evenings spent gathering around each other's living rooms. A typical evening for us revolved around snacks, Netflix and the latest Youtube videos. Youtube was our source for popular music, gaming and practical jokes. Some of our favourite Youtubers included Jenna Marbles, Markiplier and Roman Atwood. I lived in an idyllic neighbourhood and recall many fond memories of my childhood.

Life Isn't Lived on a Screen
I sat in our new rocking chair we bought in preparation for our baby, angled so my view was directly outside. I was hit with flashbacks to my grandpa's ranch in rural Missouri. The patio faced endless rolling hills as you’d see in a Bob Ross painting; dotted with bison, patches of forest, and ponds splotched in the valleys. Chunks of my childhood summers were spent here, but in my memory I feel as though it was my true home.

Why I’m chasing the self employment dream
What I mean by decentralized income For those familiar with the rise of various blockchain & cryptocurrency technologies, the term “decentralized” probably isn’t a new one. Instead of one central server controlled by one entity, you can now have multiple computers/servers with open-source software controlled by everyone. Since this is (somewhat) becoming the norm in the tech world, why not apply this to something we greatly depend on? Why not have multiple sources of income in lieu of one “central” stream of funds?

Wear A Damn Mask and Hug A Tree
Corona has offered many different experiences. The majority of which were unfortunately bad. However others experienced a different kind of journey. One where the sickness started in the mind and the antedote being to face yourself and force a change for the bigger picture. For yourself. And eventually for humanity.
