I took the above photo some time ago.

Whilst the lime’s smiley curve or crack is genuine, I admit that I drew the two eyes with a black ballpoint pen. Hihi.

I hope I made you smile with the photo. 😊

The Power of a Smile

It is said that a smile, full of warmth and kindness, can light up a room and touch even the coldest hearts.

Magic, isn’t it?

  • When paired with the right tone and good manners, it becomes an even more powerful tool.

Imagine waiting in a long queue for our favorite drink. When it’s finally our turn, the cashier greets us with a warm smile. Naturally, this makes us feel good, making the long wait worthwhile.

Similarly, in customer service, an angry and frustrated customer may calm down when served by an empathetic officer with a professional behavior and reassuring smile .

Right?

.

Smile Sells

In sales, a smile can be the key to closing deals.

A seasoned salesperson knows this well. While understanding customer pain points and providing effective solutions are important, it’s often the warmth of one’s tone and a smile that seals the deal.

A genuine smile builds rapport and sets a positive tone, making customers feel heard, understood and valued.

No wonder a famous Chinese proverb says, “A man without a smiling face must never open a shop.” 😊

Personally, I have closed many deals on WhatsApp by strategically adding smiley emojis during customer interactions.

Why? Because such emojis help convey warmth, friendliness and build trust that text alone might lack.

Have you tried using them in your business communications?

Hope they have brought a winning smile to you too.

* A special thank you to Sir Zhafrin, my mentor, for the guidance on this.

Smile and the Whole World Smiles with Us

A smile goes beyond just a facial expression.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his pleasant smiling face and taught that smiling at others is a sadaqah or charitable act (At-Tirmizi).

Smiling is akin to giving in the cause of Allah, offering a compassionate option for those who wish to give but may not have the means.

Through smiles, we create positivity that brightens lives and uplifts heavy spirits, uniting hearts and bringing joy to the world.

Wonderful, isn’t it?

.

Smile = Superpower!

Just as someone’s beautiful smile makes our day, let our smiles compound that further and light up the world.

Smile at someone today and witness how it can transform not only their day but ours as well.

In the end, it’s not the diamonds or the grandeur of royal attire that people will long remember, but the way our smiles made them feel.

And as we reach the end, how else is a smile a superpower?

Amazingly, smiling also contributes to health benefits, including relieving stress, reducing anxiety, and lowering both blood pressure and heart rate.

This makes a smile more than just a simple gesture. It is a powerful tool for our well-being too.

Have you noticed how smiling impacts your own health and mood?

.

Time to Flex Our Superpower!

By now we already know that a smile is our open secret superpower.

It’s “open” because it’s accessible to everyone, and “secret” because its profound impact is often underestimated.

Our smile is a force so remarkable that it can uplift, connect and inspire, not only in customer service, sales and everyday life but also by boosting our own health and well-being.

A smile is also considered sadaqah (charity), a simple yet profound way to give to others without requiring material wealth.

Awesome, isn’t it?

So, smile. It’s time to flex the superpower we all have.

Keep smiling, keep shining bright and let our superpower enhance our life and light up the world! 😊
