Third Eye View

A time to slowdown and reflect

By Maral NematiPublished 6 years ago 4 min read

Once upon a time life was exactly as we thought it would be. We knew our daily routines and everything was planned and the ebb and flow of our lives was steady like a river early in the morning without a single ripple or current.

We'd wake up , make a coffee , take a shower and get ready for our day at the office or at work. 8 hours of our days of our lives was intricately designed and the remaining hours of our evening at night was also perfectly predictable.

We had no reason to live in the present because our present was predetermined. We only had room in our conscious mind to think about our future. We never took a moment to slow down and breathe in life, we took the important things for granted and focused on where we wanted to be rather than where we already were.

Then the Tsunami hit and our entire reality was flipped upside down with no control on our part. All of a sudden money had no value, our material possessions had no value. The stress of our day to day lives became completely evident and now we had to stop and slow down, now we had to reflect and be in the present, live in the present.

Among this crisis that we are all going through we now have the time to live beyond our conscious mind, we have the time to sit down and reflect on our past, our present and our future that is suddenly so uncertain. Time has now held us in a captive moment wherein we are being forced to think beyond our conscious mind. We have now been given the incredible gift to re evaluate and to really see what our true path is.

We can now decide what we really value and to maybe take back some of things that we took for granted, like our health, our mental well being, our families and mostly our inner peace. We can now feel the energy of the universe and learn that all of the things that we thought mattered in our busy day to day lives were in fact obsolete and irrelevant in the eye of the storm.

We now have the opportunity to view with the world with our hearts , to view it from our third eye. We have all been given this time to learn, to think and to open our minds to the possibility of our subconscious and to the limitless potential that we all have.

Some of us may want things to just go back to normal, some of us that live in the transparency of time only watch the clock and the constant flood of news, updates and announcements from the government and are waiting for things to go back to "normal". I can say I thought the same for a while, but then from a Third eye view I asked myself was "normal" what made me happy.

What I did not realize until now was that normal was only normal because that is the life that I had been living for so long, normal was routine, normal was just moving through life instead of moving with life.

If these unprecedented times has taught me one thing it has been gratitude. Gratitude for my friends and family to be able to see each and everyone in their true element. Gratitude to not take things in life for granted, to not take my health for granted, to not take real support and love for granted.

I look back and I say to myself, all those times that I wanted to meditate , that I wanted to go for a walk and not think about any of my problems, all the times I wanted to sit and explore my creative side, my entrepreneurial side, when I wanted to go visit a friend and really enjoy being with them, the courses that I have been wanting to take to better myself, let me do them now.

When things were "normal" I never took a minute to do any of the above that I mentioned because I did not have "the time", between bills, and work and staying healthy, and getting enough rest, and more bills and day to day stress I never had the time for balance, for achieving it, for inner peace or peace of mind.

Time stands still in a crisis like this, in a global pandemic. Time stands still and we just need to ride it out and enjoy the ride, because now we can. So I say to all of us going through this right now, take the time.

Take that course that you always wanted to take, enjoy the walk , feel the stillness, meditate on all your ideas, focus on your inner peace, open your third eye and embrace this lesson that the universe is teaching us and re-write what your normal is because when all of this is over and things do go back to "normal", now you can decide what you think the best "normal" is for you.
