Think Pink

Imagine having a passion within your heart that drives you daily to search for its meaning, to search for its substance, to search for its fulfillment. However, all that is tangible to you is your mindset. The only thing you have in your grasp is your mindset. The only thing that no one else can control is your mindset unless you hand it over to them. Change your thinking and change your world. In other words, everything else is like finding a treasure with blinders on. You are not able to hear any direction. You are not able to feel your way. However, deep within, you know there is a tugging, there is a fire that won't quit. You know you will not be satisfied until that thirst is quenched. No matter the situations and circumstances you know you gotta keep going. And if you did not know any better, you may get caught up in believing that there is a system in place on purpose that keeps you from consciously awakening to becoming your greatest self. Your mindset is the key to unlock your door of fulfillment and destiny.

This reminds me of a lady that I have come to admire, to gleam from her strength and wisdom. Regardless of how many times she was knocked down she never gave up. She kept getting up. She kept encouraging, empowering and motivating herself as well as others in the midst of it all. She kept believing in herself from within herself. Let's call her Ann.

One day Ann was relaxing on her day off. She received a phone call from her office. "Ten families have moved out overnight without notice", her office assistant said. Ann was a manager for an apartment community. Her heart dropped. She was horrified. She knew as long as the apartments were empty the community was not generating income for the property. She knew her manager would somehow blame her for not knowing about the move-outs. She felt as though she had little to no control over the situation.

Even though she was off from work that day, she immediately jumped into action to save the day and put out this huge fire without water, like she always does. She made calls after calls but to no avail. She asked herself what would happen if she was "I Dream of Jenny?" She chuckled at that thought but answered the question within herself. She said to herself, what if there was a service that would come in at short notice and do turnkey service for this type of scenario? Mind you this was thirty years ago. So basically it was unheard of but obviously could be a much-needed and convenient service.

She immediately grabbed the yellow pages and began looking for this type of service. She was on the phone for hours with no luck. She kept reaching. She was not giving up. And because she did not give up, BINGO she found someone to take the job. The contractors turn keyed the ten units within 72 hours. They did a stellar job. They paid her a healthy referral fee. She thought, hmm I think I am on to something. Although she dodged that bullet, she could not stop thinking, "What If?" She was able to duplicate the same services for other apartment communities. In her vision, she kept seeing "PINK." She kept seeing women of all races, religions, faith, etc. dominating the construction industry. It just was not clear of what it all meant at the time.

Thirteen years later, she opens her own business as a referral service for contractors. Later to find out that the timing was not good. It was during the time of the Real Estate crash. She had to close her doors. She was disappointed. She still did not give up. She decided to put the business on the back burner for another time but not to throw it all away. That driving force from within would not leave her. She knew starting her business was just delayed and not denied. Even though she took other jobs in the meantime, life kept happening. Soon she began to realize, that life was not just happening to her, it was happening for her. It was apart of the process for her to keep getting up and continue on this life journey regardless of the setbacks. In all actuality, she knew there were no setbacks. They were set-ups, for a "Re-set."

Today her business is called The Pink Construction Group LLC. Even though she has given birth to TPCG and all of its challenges, it is still growing and thriving. She was being referred to million-dollar contracts that needed contractors to do the work. Her very first contract was worth $6 million. The paperwork was signed by both parties. Before the project could even break ground, Covid 19 reared its head and shut everything down all around the world. And since she had not been in business very long and did not have staff she did not qualify for any of the grant monies nor stimulus programs. Yet again, she was disappointed but she knew the best was yet to come. She kept her head up. She kept going. She believes women are transformers and has an undying tenacity and strength to endure from within. She believes women should "Dominate" but "Humbly."

She is an African American woman and back in business once again. Even after losing her first love: her father, thirty days later losing her second love: her fiance, clinging to life herself in a near demise, losing friends to Covid, etc. she kept getting up, reaching up, and believing. She cringed at the name or mention of Covid. Therefore she and her best friend softened the vibration of Covid by coining it to mean "Christ Over Viruses and Infectious Diseases." She also concluded that Covid was a set up to re-set the entire world. This was one time that race, religion, gender, finances, faith, etc. could not see, hear nor feel. It was a one size fit-all.

Life taught her where ever her dominant thought goes like energy flows: good or bad. She knows she is her own co-creator. So basically, she realized when she began changing her thinking, she began changing her life. There are great things unfolding for The Pink Construction Group.

Many times your passion, destiny, or gifts are not determined, they are discovered. The most be-fitting person for this acknowledgment is me. I am Ann, Shirley Ann. I AM BLACK IN BUSINESS.
