The only motivation you’ll ever need
Your time has already started.

I think that it’s healthy that we are reminded of our own mortality. The truth is that you and everyone you know will die within the next 8-9 decades. That seems like a long time, right? It really isn’t. I’ve been alive for nearly 3 of them already and it feels like only yesterday I was playing cricket in my backyard with my best mates as a young kid.
Your time is now.
We are constantly reminded of this inevitable truth but our brains do a fantastic job of shutting this out... Well, most of the time. We tend to distract ourselves with silly materialistic objects, mindless gossip, alcohol & trashy Netflix series (hey, “You” is worth every second though. Am I right?). But that’s what we need to survive, we need distraction from the pressure, the stress and the constant existential anxiety looming deep in the very vessels of our minds.
What are you waiting for?
Please understand this, I’m not trying to scare you or bum you out (stay with me reader!) Life is beautiful. Life is amazing. Life is stressful. Life can be nothing short of monumentally fucked! Life is the perfect clusterfuck of consequences, choices, actions (or inaction) and luck, if you believe in that sort of stuff! It’s a commonly coined term that “life is what you make it” and that’s very true! Life is your own unique story, as cheesy as it sounds. Most of us work a job we hate to simply survive, we have somewhat troubling friendship groups and often family issues. Crazy, huh!
What I’m asking you to do, right now.
Call (or message) a close friend and tell them that you appreciate them. Simple. It’s corny, I know, but it’ll make you feel good and it’ll make your friend feel appreciated. You’ll probably get a weird response. Something like, “thank you, is everything okay?”. Yeah, everything is fine! You have now acknowledged the fragility of a relationship in a particular point in time. Who knows where you’ll both be in 10 years? Next, I want you to picture your dreams coming to life and don’t lose sight of them, ever. Chase it like a starved bloodhound (sorry, it’s early). Seriously, if you want to be an actor - act! Singer? Sing! Instagram influencer? Start influencing! Swimmer? Start swimming! Dude that holds the camera in pornos? Ugh, sure? What ever your dream is, reader...
Picture that life right now and remove the idea that it’s unachievable. You do not want to go through life without even trying. Hey, it might not end up being your thing but at the end of the day when you’re sitting in that aged care home remembering glimpses of your life wondering why your fucking family hasn’t shown up for the second weekend and in a row; you’ll know deep down that you did your fucking best. No, I’m serious. Don’t let this just be another “thing” you read on the internet, roll your eyes and go back to whatever you were doing before. Let this be the catalyst for something new and exciting. Make that change, it is never impossible. Start now and don’t ever stop.
Life is crazy, I get it. Life can be a huge mess. Life can be disappointing, harsh and cruel. It’s not easy. But if you simply acknowledge the fact you are capable of what you want to achieve and understand that only one who is stopping you is you. Put your heart and soul into something you love and you will succeed. Live and breathe it. Cherish relationships, friendships, family (as crazy as they can be). Oh, and do you have a dog? If so, go and hug the cute little (or big) bastard. They love that and it’s actually proven to make us feel better. I know this sounds all hippy, go lucky, unrealistic - yeah, yeah, yeah you get me. It’s not. Change your mind, change your actions and change your life. Now.
