Today's tarot reading is a reading without a question resulting in a message that's meant to reach you right now. I enjoy doing tarot readings where there are no questions because sometimes the thing we most need to hear is not something we have the words to ask.

Today I am using the Seed and Sickle oracle deck by Fez Inkwright, the What's in Your Stars astrology deck by Sandy Sitron, and the Radiant Wise Spirit Tarot deck.

The background fabric pieces are (beautiful) hand-me-down scraps from when I got my sewing machine. The runes are made from Palo Santo. It felt appropriate today to draw crystals from my white crystal bag. I'm not sure why yet. Let me know in the comments if you have a special relationship to the stone associated with the reading(s) you pick so I know you read this intro!

Pick Your Pile

Pile 1: Basil, the number 24, the Berkano rune, and a white howlite stone.

Pile 2: Henbane, the number 51, the Isa rune, and a scolecite stone.

Pile 3: The sickle, the number 54, the Teiwaz rune, and a rainbow moonstone.

Pile 4: Jasmine, the number 10, the Othila rune, and a white jade stone.

Disclaimer: Tarot pick-a-card readings are for entertainment purposes only. Remember that you have free will and the ability to claim the good and avoid the bad or any reading.

Pile 1

Rune: Berkano

Berkano is a "life cycle" rune, corresponding with Earth, Pisces, and Aries. This rune is healing. It is a good one to appear if you are working through any adverse experiences you had during childhood. This rune is also auspicious if you are a parent of a young child.

This rune can be used to encourage growth, emotional healing, and development of all kinds. Draw the rune on a piece of paper and listen to a meditation where you consider the growth you wish to see in your life. Be aware that while Berkano can be a seed, it does not grow from nothing.

Herb card: Basil

I found it interesting that Berkano appeared with the basil plant. This card represents growth. More specifically, helping other people with their goals and the energy of their growth will benefit you in return.

This card might also represent travel. Place a basil leaf on your windowsill to show the universe that guests are welcome. Or, perhaps it's you that is on the move. Either way, this card asks that you make good decisions.

Astrology card: Homecoming (Cancer, material)

Have you been considering moving your home? Either away from your current home or closer to your family home? Cleaning and organizing your home are encouraged right now. Perhaps a visit with family or with your found family would be beneficial right now. This card represents a person seeking feelings of belonging and finding their community.

Tarot cards:

I can't make this up. Your cards are all two. If you have been feeling as if your life needs either more balance or if you are feeling like your environment would benefit from more harmony, this pile is 100 percent for you.

222 is an angel number. Regardless of where this pile and your choice take you, remember that you are not alone. Work toward partnership and collaboration with others. Seek balance. Have faith. Consider new opportunities, experiences, and ideas that you might have rejected in the past.

Two of Wands

The man in this card ponders the world as he stares out at the sea before him. Are you at a crossroads? This card suggests that you might have multiple options, opportunities, or even entire paths displayed before you. Each choice could take you in a different direction, even if the choices available appear small.

Two of Pentacles

Consider your practical needs when making your choice. Does the choice you are about to make align with your values? How will this choice lead you to become the person you wish to be? Balance your needs with your aspirations. Where do you want to go? If this choice involves moving your home, be realistic. What will this journey cost? What will the standard of living be? What benefits does this opportunity have? Which of your goals will this opportunity satisfy?

Two of Cups

Now, consider your relationships. Friends, family, and romantic, or potential future romantic. Is there a balance between the amount of time and effort you spend on the people in these categories? Life isn't always going to play out equally in these categories. If you are married, you will spend more time with your romantic partner who is also your family. If you live with your friends and don't have a romantic partner, you likely spend more time with your friends. However, consider if there are imbalances in any of these relationships. Not everything in life is work. How will the opportunities that stand before you allow you to reach your material needs and dreams in addition to your goals for the relationships you have in life?

Pile 2

Rune: Isa

The Isa rune is associated with frozen movement, cold, external forces, and stillness. Focus on yourself right now. Spirituality is favored. Meditate quietly, listening to the sounds all around you. If a thought appears, thank it, and let it go. Center yourself right now. Consider what makes you unique.

Herb card: Henbane

It appears that something is holding you back. It might be a memory, or perhaps it is a circumstance. Identify it through meditation or journaling. You might need to do the work to forgive. Forgiveness is not for them. It's for you. It can be hard. And, it takes time. Only once you have forgiven will it truly become a part of your past.

Astrology card: Satisfaction or Dissatisfaction (Taurus, emotions)

Based on your tarot cards below, it appears that you might be feeling some dissatisfaction regarding your current situation or circumstances. Imagine your desired solution. What resources do you have to get there? Understanding that you can only control yourself, the card asks what patterns of behavior of yours might need adjustment or editing to get to that solution.

Tarot cards:

Ok, readers, you have a "scary" looking card. And a couple of reversed cards. But, overall, the message is good! Let's dig in.

Eight of swords reversed

The person in this card appears to be suck, all wrapped up and blindfolded. You may be breaking out of a situation that felt restrictive or limiting. Release old patterns and beliefs holding you back, and move forward with a renewed sense of freedom and clarity. If you feel stuck like the person in this card, know that it's just an illusion. You have power and you can free yourself from this.

Six of wands reversed

This card sort of tags onto the last one, in that you have experienced setbacks from the successes you wanted to achieve. Success doesn't always come easily. You have to work for it. Life is messy, and there are always challenges. Even when you see a person who appears to have easily succeeded in life, know that everyone has stories. The narratives you might be seeing are most often not the full picture.

The Magician

The appearance of The Magician after the previous two cards suggests that you have the tools and resources you need to overcome these challenges and achieve your goals. You're a skilled and capable individual, and you're ready to tap into your inner magic and create the life you desire.

This could be a period of growth and transformation for you, where you're releasing old patterns and facing new challenges. You that you have the strength and resources you need to overcome these challenges and create a better future for yourself. You are strong, and you are resilient.

Pile 3

Rune: Teiwaz

This rune is an arrow. It implies that now is the time to act. However, it's a little aggressive. You appear to be motivated and fired up, and that's good! However, your tarot cards and your herb card offer the opposite message. Teiwaz in this case then might represent a goal of yours that requires strength to achieve.

Herb card: The Sickle

The sickle is not an herb. Instead, we have an instrument used to harvest. You might have reached an end. Now is the time to reflect on a fruitful year before you move forward into the next.

Astrology card: Assertiveness

In this card, a man is running. He pursues his goals with strength and assertiveness. He does not wait for others to come to him with solutions. He finds opportunities himself. Behind him, the sun sets. So he runs to stay ahead.

Tarot cards:

The Six of Swords reversed

The person in this card appears to be a teenager from my perspective. He is trying to pick up all the swords at once but instead finds himself overloaded, unbalanced, and unable to finish his task.

You appear to be stuck in a situation or some behavior patterns that no longer work for your environment or circumstances. What methods or options have you not yet tried? Old patterns and routines might cause problems when applied to a different environment, or a world that has fundamentally changed.

The Hermit

You might be allowed to be alone with yourself. Use this time as an opportunity to free your mind and gain clarity. What is the best way forward? You are ready to move on. You simply need to walk through the door and find the road.

The Star reversed

Have faith that you are on the right path. This card appears to represent feelings of disappointment. Stay positive and keep going despite the challenges you face. Even upside-down, the star card is still a star. Its aspirations still call to you. With the right attitude, you can turn things around.

Consider working through your feelings by engaging in some hermit-energy introspection. Maybe this means taking some time for yourself to journal or meditate, or reaching out to a trusted friend or mentor for advice. Or maybe it means simply sitting with the messages from this reading and letting them percolate.

Pile 4

Rune: Othila

Your inheritance, heritage, or legacy is highlighted. The shape of the rune looks like a ribbon or medal, pinned to a chest to symbolize a cause, belief, or achievement. If you can connect with relatives, and only if seeking opinions is appropriate, see what wisdom or assistance they might have for you.

Herb card: Jasmine

You chose your path for a good reason. The right reasons. However, you appear as if you think it's not going well. Jasmine blooms at night. The sweetest smell only appears in the darkness of the night. Don't make decisions. Just let yourself feel. Hold onto hope.

Astrology card: Balance

A dartboard appears on this card. It is checkered in black, white, and blue. Your mind appears to be wavering between extremes right now. Seek equilibrium. Call someone. Assess your routines and needs and address imbalances. Sort through your thoughts in a way that works for you, just as by journaling, exercise, or meditation. Let a candle light the way for you if you need it.

Tarot cards:

Your cards below suggest you might feel stressed. There is hope for a brighter future.

Nine of Swords

In this card, a person's fears consume them as their life appears to collapse around them. Has your life collapsed? Or is this temporary? Judging by your next two cards, I think it's temporary. You may be overthinking and allowing the anxiety to consume you. Things might feel heavy on you right now, but all is not lost. You are resilient and you will make it through this.

Ten of Swords, reversed

You appear to be overwhelmed with burdens. I am sorry that you are going through this right now. Pulling this card reverse suggests that you could be at a turning point. There is hope now. Hold onto it.

Ten of Wands

In this card, a person carries all ten wands. Their head is down, pushing against the heavy wands, criss-crossed at the bottom. Their arm wraps around the wands. They appear to be succeeding in their task. However, at the same time, it's too much for them. They are exhausting themselves by doing it. If this is you, ask yourself if you need to "do it all" right now. What can you take off your plate?

Use your rune in this situation. If you believe in a spiritual team, call on them to help you. Draw the rune on a piece of paper and offer it up. Ask your spirit guides, God, or your/the gods, to assist you in finding your faith (if religion is something you believe in).

No one can "do it all" on their own. It's okay to ask for help if you are struggling. These cards appear to suggest that you might be struggling. Please reach out to friends, neighbors, relatives, a doctor, or a counselor. Even in the most challenging times, there's always hope and light at the end of the tunnel.

Trust in yourself and keep moving forward. You are stronger than you know.
