And here we are. After a week on Medium and after reading/scanning a dozen or two articles fed to me by the engine, I’ve decided to join the overwhelming overflow — a flood if you will — of the Quantity over Quality momentum. Of course, the good old me is questioning the success of this endeavor; a poor Little Tony (I call it Little Tony, my good old me, my ego) has a hard time giving up the illusion of control even if it’s as insignificant as writing one article on Medium — as Gary Vee would say,

The Life Lessons I Learned From My Quadriplegic Cousin
Dear Donald, I never told you, when you were alive, how I felt about you, the accident, or the effect you had on my life. I recently started writing for an online platform, Vocal. media. After publishing my 50th story, I was thinking about what my next story topic should be. You immediately came to my mind. Coincidentally, Vocal was running a contest, a Challenge, they called it, to write about someone who was a mentor to us; an inspiration. I was going to write your story regardless of the Challenge, but when I read the rules that stated that this Challenge was “dedicated to all the influential people who have made a positive impact in our lives. To all the mentors who have given us a helping hand, kept us inspired, and motivated us to conquer all our goals, we want to uplift and thank you”, I knew it was time to thank you for what you meant to my life. I knew it was time to tell your story.

In all fairness
Addiction and recovery today is such a touchy, most necessary subject in the here and now, especially an important topic for our youth. Extended from the past and carried violently into the present unfortunately. Being a total dreamer, just one of my many dreams is that something, or someone or in greatness that all of mankind can look at active addicts, recovering addicts, and those whom have never experienced the nightmare look at those who are as indifferent and that we all are equal human beings and that we all can pitch in an ounce of dedication to lead our youth with no knowledge into leaders with the knowledge of choices and consequences. Teaching them the path of destruction that addiction carries, such a silent subject in my personal upbringing. Looking back on my own life, it was a very necessary subject of conversation or mentoring that would of been of great service.

"Am I putting the priorities straight my family?" "Do I have profound connections in my day to day existence?" "What's my heritage?"

Can't Seem to Win?
During my formative years, I eagerly anticipated my parents' plans for both my siblings and me. However, as I matured, I realized that their approach to life consisted mainly of day-to-day decisions, revolving around church attendance on Sundays and ensuring we made it to school regularly. I inadvertently adopted a similar approach, not only influenced by my parents but also because of my penchant for procrastination.

BMX RACE
The moment I was surprised was when I got a new bike it was so mean looking with the big rims and beefy tires I couldn't wait to ride it I still have it to this day just its dirtier than it was when I got it. I have gone fast and hard on the tires but I'm on the first aftermarket set of tires. I have had wrecks on it too but I have repainted the chips in the paint I've also gone down my road about 35- 40 mph from the entrance of my subdivision with no hands this is also my racing bike the one where I have booked it through my neighborhood. I have taught friends that wanted to know what it feels like with a clutch on a bike where the bike they have has the pedal brake. In my nana's neighborhood, we have this steep hill and of course, I go flying down the hill like something's after me but I enjoy the breeze on a hot day during the summer. The worst wreck I had on the bike was when I got road rash I slid down the road like a car skidding to a stop my skin was peeled back like a tarp and my knee was torn up like an old pair of shoes, but the worst part was cleaning the wound I felt as if I had been shot and the sting and burn were getting the best of me. it was more like a swarm of bees stinging in one place over and over, but that wreck never stopped me from riding. After the wreck occurred that same day my friend asked, " Arent you going to rest and let that heal. I replied with " A little accident never stopped me " she stood with a confused yet impressed look on her face but we kept riding till sunset. After the day was over I was dead on one's feet and ready to hit the sack because I knew I was going swimming the next day and would be exhausted again. That summer was the most comical summer I've ever been through. I can't wait for the next summer so I can do it all again because it was such fun! The bike is so nice I don't want to get rid of it but I also want a mountain bike with a suspension to make my ride more smooth and ride up the curb no problem at medium speeds. I have borrowed a friend's mountain bike and it handled the same as my BMX bike just it had gears. But it is way easier to race with my bike now than a mountain bike because of how responsive the brakes are and pedals catching to move. I love my bike people laugh at me when after I clean my bike I wax it to make it look like a mirror on wheels and to look phenomenal for races and events. That is all about the time I experienced where I was excited. I do have to say out of all bikes this one is my all-time favorite to ride and own and that is saying a lot because I have had some pretty cool bikes in the past so you know it's gotta be good for me to make it my favorite so far out of all of the bikes I've owned and passed down to friends that need new bikes. That is the best part I love about getting a new bike is seeing the smile on others' faces when I give them a new one their face lights up and it makes me feel good and makes my heart happy
