Legendary Short Stories
Is there anybody out there? "It would seem the answer is no," I told myself dejectly. The pain I experienced at this notion grew and grew and so I consulted experts with the hopes that they would cure me of the pain of my loneliness. "There is no pain," I was told. "It's only in your head," the doctors, experts, and specialists reason blankly to me. "I guess that's why I have become comfortably numb," I thought curiously to myself. "Okay," I thought, "I will just get through this damned day by sure determination and frustrated cowardice," I said to myself as tears well up in my barren black eyes as I cried out:

Equilibrium
ALL lives matter. COEXISTENCE MATTERS ALL lives matter. Equilibrium, because we all count. We all matter. This means me, you, everyone else. What difference does the color of our skin tone make? How does it seperate the life of one, to the life of another? Even when I have my ups and downs at the end of the day, I am a peacemaker and this is my perspective. This is what I will say.

The Sun Still Rises
This photograph is much more than a pretty landscape. It’s a beautiful reminder of self-care during the craziness going on around us. Being in nature is a great way to clear your mind. You can take in the view, listen to the birds, and clear your mind. Fortunately, I live in sunny Southern California and with the neverending supply of gorgeous scenery, it’s only obvious that hiking would be one of my favorite pastimes. More than that, it has become a nightlight in the dark tunnel of this pandemic.

Assumptions
This article is about assumptions. I have found that lately, during this coronavirus situation, especially, that people assume an awful lot. People will assume that when you say that you want it to, or that it will “be over soon” --that you are following Trump.

We Wear The Mask!
Home of the Afraid! Land of the Enslaved! This is AMERICA! At least that's how it is for US. It is Monday, June 15, 2020 and we are still screaming #blacklivesmatter! To answer your question: is racism still alive? Open your Eyes and STOP IGNORING US! Yes it is! Newsflash... Racism will NEVER DIE! Why you say? Because racism is taught and you will always have those who just will never accept change! But what we can do is place our focus on those who do want and who are searching for actionable change! Not just talk! Just like a racist was taught to hate, we can teach him/her to learn to love themselves again.

The Birth of a Butterfly
We pay homage to the growth of a caterpillar, a story of courage, strength, and rebirth. What we don't acknowledge as often is the revolution that happens within a cocoon. The birth of a butterfly is directly juxtaposed by the death of a caterpillar. And this, I believe, is how true change occurs in our lives. There is a beauty in acknowledging the reflection of our own human experience in the processes of nature. Much like the caterpillar, change for us is often turbulent on the inside though seemingly casual to onlookers. Within a cocoon a caterpillar must destroy itself completely to become something new. Amidst darkness and uncertainty, I imagine the caterpillar is challenged to engage an unwavering faith, knowing that beyond its current circumstances lies the advent of a much greater good. We all face similar challenges in our lifetime. Maybe we encounter the ache of heartbreak, the loss of a parent or loved one, maybe the plans we had for our lives were shattered to nothing. We all find ourselves in scenarios that demand abrupt change to which we have a hard time adapting. I believe it is in this shattered reality that we find pieces of our purpose. A caterpillar must abandon its life on the ground to find the sky.

Stuck in 2019.
I think we can all admit that this year took a turn for the worst, and real quick. Now, I don’t typically like to follow the status quo of people’s outcry of how awful the year is going. Unpopular opinion: the events we’ve experienced this year is the same crap that’s been taking place every single year. The only difference is that it’s been magnified and captured to a greater extent (a part from almost the whole world being placed on a lockdown - this will definitely go down in history, and hopefully as a one time only). I, of course, sympathise with everything that’s going on. But I am a hopeful spawn.

Hello, Hello... Bleeding Sadness
There are several stories that fueled the construction of "Hello, Hello". The first motivating spark was when I was compelled to write a poem in 2009 which I had titled "Hello Good Bye La La Land". It was inspired after spending several days with a friend of mine where through our encounters we had really bonded over sharing life stories connected with our passion for music. I would find my friend to be so interesting, wise and musically talented, yet so held back by internal torture which would make him lose all that wonderful wisdom. He would inspire and frustrate me at the same time by letting depressive reflective moments over take and supersede all the wonderful positive moments we had just shared.

Your physical body is fiction your real body is energy
“The physical body, which most of us have always assumed to be real, is actually fiction. And if only we could see that our physical body is an idea our mind is stubbornly holding on to, we would experience an enormous breakthrough.

The Onion Story
One day in the early 90's I was blessed to spend some time with the very special little girl in the picture above, her name is Red. As you can see she was a very pretty little girl and It was her birthday but she didn't seem to be very happy. So I asked her if she felt up to going to Burger King to get a little something to eat? With a very big smile she replied "Yes, Sir". So we headed to the nearest Burger King. When we got there she told me what she wanted and we got a seat. Even though she was eating she didn't seem to be very happy. Someone had said somethings to her that hurt her feelings. She shared a little of it with me as we sat and talk.

Coronavirus Diaries
Wednesday 11th March There's a lot of doubt around how "serious" Covid-19 is. Rumours about Italy and lockdown, the situation in China, death tolls and cases rising. The mistake is thinking the problem is on the other side of the world. I'm meant to be travelling to Paris for the weekend with family, we go ahead cautiously. "Stock up on hand gel!" Mum's orders. I go to Boots after work, there isn't any, hardly any toilet paper or pasta either. Then Tesco, none there too. I brush it off. "Do we need face masks?" my sister asks. Famous last words.
