Why I Don't Give a Sh*t What People Think
So, you want to make a judgement of me. Okay. I used to be the girl that would stare at the floor when people looked at me. The slightest nasty comment would tear me to shreds. I'd hate myself for weeks. One day that all changed for me, not sure when, but it did. I look at things in a very different way these days, and it's the right way.

Service in Seattle
As I was growing up I constantly saw the commercials on TV about starving children, found food drives on every corner, or noticed that soup kitchens were desperately searching for volunteers. I knew that world hunger was a real issue and I felt genuine sympathy for those who were suffering, but I never thought too much about the importance of volunteer work because I was stuck in my fortunate and very comfortable lifestyle. There was always that fear of the unknown when I thought of volunteer work and I let those hesitations block my view of an ugly side of this world, as well as the opportunities I had to help.

Missing Opportunities
Lately, I have been reminded that time is of the essence. We always hear go to work, finish school, but how often do we hear to follow your heart? And when we do, it's always followed by a "you should finish school first" or finish something else first.

Young and Delusional
Coming home on a Sunday after a brunch well done. Bottle of nice white wine... delicious Thai food... some shots and of course, great company. In that moment, time stood still. Between the laughs, I stopped for a moment. To appreciate the feeling of joy, of genuine happiness and indulgence. Brunch ended up being a five-hour boozy brunch and it was careless. It was two ladies that were extremely passionate and ambitious in life, who forgot for a moment that it was Sunday. Well, forget is actually not the correct term to use. It would be LIVED Sunday to its fullest!

A Millennial's Comeback Story
"Sometimes you need to really get knocked down in order to truly know what your fight is." —Chadwick Boseman One of the worst things anyone can do is get stuck in their own mind. Yet I can’t ever seem to break the habit of overthinking. I spent the entire bus ride staring out the window lost in thought; five hours of thinking should lead to some kind of progress, right? If so, then I sure as hell wasn’t doing it right because I stepped off of that bus feeling exhausted and just as conflicted. From a span of between the last few months and the last couple of years, the road I found myself on proved intense and emotional. Have you ever watched your entire life just collapse before your eyes? God bless the egotistical because this is the most humbling experience they will ever have, and just like every other asshole, I have a decent sized hand in why it all went south…

Blink of an Eye
Here we are in March 2019. I find myself at a crossroads once again in my life. I was scrolling FB last night, only to find out another friend's spouse suddenly passed away at 52 years of age. It rattled me. They were waiting for retirement until they moved back to the coast. Retirement was going to be later this year. In the blink of an eye, my friend's life has been turned upside down, and at such a young age.

Quitting at the Last Hurdle Is Okay
Before delving right in and explaining the reasoning behind such a title, I would just like to briefly disclaim that this article is not designed to de-motivate or demoralise anyone. Pushing ourselves to reach our full potential is a vital element of self-exploration and achieving the best results possible out of life. That being said, it is also imperative that we learn to recognise our limits and have the strength to walk away from situations that could be potentially damaging to our characters and the quality of our lives. In life, we have a habit of getting ourselves caught up in long term situations that—to put it bluntly—make us down right miserable. Such situations, a lot of the time, have a goal or a target in sight, which we feel is necessary to obtain in order to gain satisfaction from the task at hand. Whether educational, occupational or recreational, these goals are often deemed worth the turmoil one must endure in order to obtain them.

First Time Seeing Myself
Every day is just a normal day but there are some days that just show you who you really are. There are life obstacles that will give you guidance and direction into finding yourself. I found that those obstacles can lead you to either sink or swim. So you better be careful on your choice. The most difficult thing to do is "making a decision."

The Importance of Being... Honest
Today I sat at a coffee shop right next to a couple on a Tinder date. Ugh. It does happen quite a lot. Those Tinder people seem to pop up everywhere. I try not to eavesdrop on whatever people are talking about, but holy shit, is it usually awkward and polite and oh so dull, that I feel close to obligated to activate a fire alarm, so we can just evacuate the entire coffeeshop and maybe save the last part of the human race, who still shares a grain of faith in love and conversations that doesn't make you wanna cut your wrists after five minutes.

Society Doesn’t Dictate Our Lives, We Do
We are always been told many things in our lives. Some we like, some we don’t. But sometimes the things that we don’t like affects us in a way that makes us feel out of the place. Though we never show it, deep down, it hurts. It hurts to listen to people talking about us. Yes, people say positive things too, but dissenting the things said sometimes overpowers our mind. Moreover, there are that kind of people too who try to maintain an image of not caring what people say, but inside this thing kills them.
