The Detour
There are no words to describe the beauty of the vast openness of an empty road, a dim glowing horizon and a sky full of stars. Even better is the sunset right before the nothingness, where you can discover brand new colors no one has ever seen before. My story starts here on an empty road, in the southwest, headed from Los Angeles, CA to El Paso, TX at the end of a one of a kind sunset. I was taking a route my grandfather once traced out for me on a map he must have bought in the 60s. It was one of my most prized possessions especially during this particular time and I was clinging to it like I had never taken this road before. With the map in hand, I mentally marked down every city I passed. With each evaluation of my journey Id imagine his voice saying things like,”When you’re headed out of Arizona and if you have about an hour to spare, take I80 south after Benson to Tombstone and check out the OK Corral”. But I was never one to stray off my course and thought it foreign for me to start now, so I drove on down my planned path. I had the radio off listening to nothing but the consistent swishing sound of the tires on the road and the memories that flooded my mind. Subconsciously, I was reevaluating myself, my choices, life direction and how I lived my life in general.

No Cap
In 2022 I’m going to go a hell of a lot easier on myself about work and here is why. I was meditating the other day and a thought came to me. Sometimes the only reason you don’t have what you want is that you don’t yet think you deserve it. This above all else is the key to manifesting your dreams and any self-limiting beliefs will drag you down like an anchor. Whether it be capitalism, the media, or people who think hard labor is the key to all their perceived success, someone along the way ingrained in us that we must suffer before we soar. You must put your blood sweat and tears into something before you can see any earnings. You must sacrifice to the God’s before your blessings come in. To me it was the church, be like Jesus, be meek, work hard. sacrifice yourself for the greater good, and you will be rewarded in heaven. Let me tell you right now the Mega rich didn’t get where they are with slaving away at someone else’s company until their hard work was noticed and opportunity was given to them. They gave a pound of flesh, but it is that of their workers, they have pushed the narrative that hard work pays off so that they can have a bunch of hard workers willing to do anything for their company, meanwhile they do little to no work and would offer you up as a sacrificial lamb to save a few thousand dollars a year. In many countries Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Germany for example, things like free healthcare and free college tuition are given to all their citizens because those are basic rights, and everyone is having access to these things just for existing. In America, they make you pay for those necessities by offering up your life in the military or offering up the majority of your life working to keep a small percentage of wealthy people even more wealthy. They take away your basic needs and then offer them back to you for a high price. I don’t know about ya’ll but for me the year of the struggle is over my friends, you deserve good things, you deserve to have free healthcare, you deserve to have free college tuition You are inherently worthy just for existing. Don’t let these lemmings in the comment sections of controversial social media videos make you feel like you’re not thriving in life because you haven’t pulled yourself up by your bootstraps and put in an honest day’s work. You aren’t thriving because the system was designed to keep your head barely above water so you can’t leave your jobs because the owners of that company want to amass more money than they know what to do with. You have been convinced that only a certain select few people can live lavishly and have a beautiful home and eat well. You have been conditioned to believe that the people you see in movies, TV shows, celebrities, politicians, & rich white men in power are the only ones with access to the ability to live abundantly. If there is anything social media has taught us it’s that anyone with a niche business idea or a bubbly personality and a lot to say can amass a cult-like following and be paid for their creative contribution to the world. So, whatever your childhood dream was that thing that people told you wasn’t attainable or that your parents wouldn’t support, and you stop considering as an option. That thing that’s more of a hobby and just something you really enjoy doing and shouldn’t be considered work because you love it some much, Do that! There is a guy with 500,000 followers who literally just shows him working at McDonalds all day. There is a lady who just bakes pretty cakes in her kitchen at home. People care what you have to say, and more than that you can leverage those followers to make you money. This year go easier on yourself about how working harder is the best way to make money. That’s just not true the hardest workers are the most underpaid and companies are taking advantage of the fact that you feel like you can’t turn down their unattractive offers. The best way to make money is to do what you’re truly passionate about because fortune favors the brave. Be brave, get an account, share your hobbies, your passions, hell just share your time and talk with people, and I promise the universe will conspire to make you money because you are honoring yourself. Sometimes self-care is doing that thing you’re too scared to do because someone told you, you couldn’t do it, or several someones over the course of a lifetime, either way silence those self-limiting thoughts in your head because they usually aren’t even your thoughts those are things people think about you.

New Year
Yesterday was the day I was lost. Today is the day I was found. Tomorrow will be the day I am freed. The past two years have, quite frankly, been the hardest years of my life. I’ve lost loved ones I never imagined I could lose, ended a relationship I’d believed was my forever, and have faced the reality that all good things must come to an end. Despite all of that, I am thankful because I have been blessed. By whom or what has yet to be determined by my wavering faith, but blessed I have been, nonetheless. I have experienced love in some of its purest forms, have rekindled friendships with souls that have walked the earth with me before. I’ve been allowed a fruitful life, difficult yes, but bountiful nonetheless.

A Spark of Joy to Help Provide Motivation
I enjoy running, and I once ran a marathon. Yes, just once! A friend and I trained for the run months in advance, following a recommended training schedule that “guaranteed” success. The morning of the race, I felt energized and confident. My shoes were double knotted, the iPod was fully charged, and I had two energy gel packs. I was ready.

5 Ways to Be Kind and Loving
We all need someone who is kind to us, but also we have to learn to be like that, as well. Kindness does not mean to be weak. It means to be nice, generous and caring about others. One of the most important things in life is to learn how to love, because each person deserves it.

New Day, New Opportunity, Old Me!
As I start to think about what my first story can be, a thought strikes! All my life, I have been an excellent student. Not just in academics, but life in general. I love observing people around me, think about what’s going in their mind and draw a kind of empathy for them. No, I am not a stalker! I am merely an avid observer. I love the idea of how we are all interconnected and that we all share a common origin, how we all have different thoughts yet feel the same emotions time to time. In a world of so many differences, I think that is something which unites us on the cellular level.

Sleeping Is Not Overrated
You can thank me later if you wish. In the spirit of setting realistic new years resolutions, goals and/or systems (depending on how you flow) around (finally, or consistently) getting a great nights sleep; this article is born out of that need, and on what you can do to help you get a great nights sleep. Sleeping well at night has to be a priority, yet there are activities (resolutions) that we need to do in order to be much kinder to ourselves in the process.

We have lost our angel
The entire world got to know about the great Mother Teresa only after she got the Nobel peace prize for her charitable work. For all the years prior to that, she didn't even exist for people but nevertheless, she served her purpose and showed to the world that there still exists humanity till her very last breath.

Me
2022. The year of finally getting the guts to do ME. Some may call it selfishness, but I call it a call to sanity from a job that was wearing me down mentally and physically for 29 years. I had stayed on longer than my last notice-given date due to some unfortunate things happening, just so the company could stay open, and others wouldn’t lose their jobs. I made it to September before I really gave notice that I couldn’t do it anymore. The stress was killing me. It is time to put myself ahead of everyone else, to strive for my happiness.
