No Matter What, Smile, Always Smile
December 2017, Thursday evening (or was it already Friday morning?) “So, how long are you staying for?” — asked Uri. “Only till Tuesday. Then I fly to Frankfurt, stay with Annie for a week, and back to Australia,” — I replied

When the Unknown Becomes Home
As I write these words, I am sitting on a folding chair that I have installed in the middle of an almost dried up river, looking at this magnificent view in front of me. I am in awe and disbelief, tears forming in my eyes, grateful beyond explanation and feeling blessed to have this possibility in my life. “How did I end up being here?” I ask myself.

There is no need to struggle to understand everything
When the water is clear, there are no fish, and when people are clear, there are no friends. If you fight with your family, if you win, your family will be gone; if you fight with your lover, you won, but your feelings will fade; if you fight with friends, if you won, your affection will be gone. What we fight for is reason, what we lose is love, and what hurts is ourselves. Black is black, white is white, let time tell. Let go of your stubborn opinions, be a man with a heart, be willing to do things, and you will win the whole life; with more peace and more warmth, life will have sunshine.

A Trued Bicyclist
My muses are in perpetual momentum, so I write and ride. The one thing in life that has had my focus consistently is my fleet of bikes. Maybe some of the bikes have come and gone, but I’ve always had a bike to roll with. I’m always on my bike and I’m always writing and reading. Yes, I am always reading the roads, the trails, the weather, cars, animals, other riders, depending on what bike I’m on and where I’m biking. All riders do this (hopefully). We sense to get our bearings so we’re on point in the flow of our ride.
