goals
Understanding your goals to help you achieve them.

So, it's 2 a.m. on January, 18, 2021. My sleep schedule has gotten a little out of wack these past couple weeks - this year did not begin how I imagined, but can I really be all that surprised? I knew something had to give, and this last year has pushed me down into a new kind of shell that I haven't experienced before, so the universe said "sit down, be patient - I'll handle this."

New Year, New strategies
1. Keeping it positive I decided that I would control the energy around me. On December 31st, I let go of all my negative energy and toxicity that I had lingering. I wanted to start the new year with nothing but fresh and clean energy. Even if the people around me had a smog around them I would not let that affect me.

Let's Be Real
A new year. A blank page. A clean slate. Whatever the colloquialism, the sentiment is the same-start fresh, set some goals, and become a new and improved version of the old you. I see you, New Year's Resolutions, and I won't be fooled again. Setting the arbitrary date of January 1 to suddenly begin solving a life time of compounded problems-student loan debt, bad relationship patterns, the last five pounds- it's a lot of pressure for one person to shoulder, especially in the age of influencers and curated IG feeds.

How Vocal+ Is Helping Me Reach My Goals for 2021. Top Story - February 2021.
I have always known that I wanted to be a writer, but I didn’t know where to start. The concept of “just start writing,” made no sense to me at all. I didn’t feel prepared or like I had enough time to be a writer. I equated the idea of “just start” with jogging-in-place to prepare for a marathon: It didn’t seem productive!

Experiment with the New Year
In a year with so many unknowns down the tunnel, including how long we are all still at home, my resolution is to embrace the encroaching persona of the mad cooked up scientist and try all the weird and wonderful things I can. 2021 should be the year of experimentation. So far I’ve begun with just some fun oddities and hobbying. We bought a harness and leash for our cat who always loves staring out the windows but always gets nervous when we go outside. She is in love with the outdoors now and wants to go on walks nearly every morning.

Making and Finishing Goals
I think it is great to have goals but following through with them can be hard. I have goals that I want to finish by the end of the year from personal to career goals. I am doing this blog because I am want to be held accountable for not reaching these goals. I am very good at making a plan and setting goals but I am not good at achieving them. Either because I just don't feel motivate to finish or even start the goals that I made. Does anyone feel like that?
