January 1st is the Worst Day to Start your New Year Resolutions
This happens to us every year. The holidays start creeping up on us one after the other. First, it’s almost Halloween and we’re complaining about seeing and hearing all those Christmas things when it isn't even November yet. We all start saying the same thing, “Wow, Christmas gets earlier every year.”

Dave's Rules for 2022
2022. January. Great, I’m still alive! It has been a monumental effort even for relatively ‘normal’ people just to remain vaguely sane over the last couple of years, with an overabundance of people telling you what to think, who to listen to, what you need to do for the rest of your days. It feels particularly bad here in Australia for some reason… 2020/21 were disastrous for me in particular, as I have had to deal with the return of the most narcissistic parent ever to walk the Earth. He has since removed himself from my existence when I made it plain that I would no longer tolerate such bullshit, but the stress of the situation lingers on.

Dear 2021, I'm Kinda Glad You're Done!
Written on New Year's Eve. Today is Friday, December 31st, 2021. We have reached the final day - the final few hours - of another very long, trying year. And as we navigate through these final few hours of another year, we are all reeling from today’s earlier news that a beloved national treasure and icon has passed away. Our beloved Betty White, who all of us have grown up with and loved so deeply. It’s another cruel blow after another long year. I heard this particular news today while I was sitting in my car, and all I could do was stare at my sunflower covered steering wheel and simply say; “Wow 2021, you couldn’t have gone quietly? You could’ve just left; you didn’t have to flip a table over.”

This New Year, give yourself the gift of mental peace
2021 was a year we all expected to be better than 2020. We had high hopes of life going back to normal, but instead we had no choice other than to adapt to a new normal: Zoom became our new classroom and office, facemasks turned into an extra part of our outfit that had to match, and new COVID variants seem to be appearing every few months. For some, 2021 turned out to be quite a decent year. This was the year they finally started that project they were thinking of, accomplished that goal they had been working towards, or simply improved in some aspect.

The First Day
A bright purple figure shined so radiantly into my eyes whilst I was asleep. It was beautiful with wings, as I opened my eyes i could see it clearly it was hovering over what looked like waves. I woke up cold. It was so cold here. I was alone. There were so many people in this room some young, some old. I scanned the room and with each glance I felt their energy but I was also detached, I didn't feel like they were actually there. "Is this some sort of simulation?" They all looked at me emotionless and turned their heads to carry on with the conversations that were rudely interrupted.

Free Yourself With Forgiveness
"Our sorrows and wounds are only healed when we touch them with compassion." –Buddha What would it be like if you felt free from the past? Is it possible to let go of that anger, resentment, and hurt we all have from our life experiences?

Embracing Failure
"Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It's quite simple, really: Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn't at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, so go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember, that's where you will find success."
