Success Minded People Know The Importance Of Two Questions
No matter what it is, be it money, personal aspirations, relationships, career, or developing a new ability, this powerful tip from one of America's most successful figures can help.
Are you as successful as you want to be in all avenues of your life? If you said yes, congratulations! There’s no need to continue reading. You’ve already gotten to the mountaintop, have that perfect relationship, have more than enough money, are set in your career, and are fit, healthy, and smiling all the time.
For the rest of us who still have a story to finish or dreams we aspire to, we haven’t achieved the success we dream about. We’re still finding our way toward that goal. What each individual does to get there is a part of their journey, so when people see these types of articles, they either jump on them or their eyes glaze over, and they think, another know-it-all preaching a how-to!
Open-minded people are the ones that are still reading by now, and that’s fine. Who’s still a big fan of the close-minded?
There are two questions that successful people know how to ask and appreciate the importance of, but why these two? Read on and find out. It’s one of the concepts I never heard until reading one of these articles.
The Questions Successful People Know How To Ask
Ask yourself, how do you view the people around you? Some of them you hold in high esteem, right? We all have a collage of different people around us. From family to friends, to colleagues and significant others, we’ve got them.
People in our lives are assets. It’s not how I viewed them throughout my life, but it is a very pragmatic approach. Those are the ones who we keep or continue to have in our lives. We wouldn’t keep people in our lives who don’t bring value to our lives. That’s what we did in high school before we learned to be discerning.
How do you get things out of people besides surrounding yourself with like-minded people? You have to ask them questions. But do you know which questions are the most important and beneficial for your success?
How do you figure out which questions to ask like more successful people? It’s simple. It’s so simple you might want to slap yourself upside the head when you figure it out.
How and Why
How and why questions are the two most important questions to learning a new skill. New skills are constantly being developed by successful people. They don’t wait for someone to teach them, they go out and find the answers to:
How do you do this?
How does this work?
How did you come to this conclusion?
Why do you perform a task this way versus another?
Why would this help me get to where I want to go?
Successful people utilize everything around them, including those who are doing something new, different, or more effective than them. Sitting and reading the article that expounded on the importance of how and why questions to successful people, a successful person in the room with me asks these questions all the time.
How and why are the two best tools in communications when you are trying to find answers to a problem. They are the primary digging questions. We all know the other types, don’t we?
- Who
- What
- Where
- When
- Why
- and How
Of all the questions that you can ask, how and why stick out for a reason. They aren’t asking for something easy. How and why aren’t fishing for easy answers, such as:
- Who = You
- What = Anything
- Where = Home
- When = Tonight
So, the next time you see someone doing something you’re not completely successful at, ask them how they figured out what eludes you. When you’re in the gym and you see someone doing something you haven’t seen before or don’t understand the value in, ask them why they’re doing that and how it benefits them.
Takeaways
Asking good “how” and “why” questions, according to a recent interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger, increases the chance the information will stick in your brain. The information you learn might connect with other related pieces of information, making it more valuable when it comes time to use what you learned.
It makes sense, and Schwarzenegger is one of the most successful actors/action stars/bodybuilders of our time. When it comes to looking for success paths, there are so many who have done it before and all we have to do is listen, learn, and follow some examples.
Practicing how and why questions makes sense and would be a useful skill for learning new abilities, getting ahead in the world, achieving hard-to-reach goals, getting in shape, and becoming more success-minded.
What do you think of the importance of asking good “how” and “why” questions? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for sticking it out this far.
