Enjoyment, luxuries, pleasures, relaxation, fun, moments of satisfaction and peacefulness. These are the sort of things that we can't get enough of in life, because they indeed bring us happiness and joy, albeit for only a brief period of time here and there. From spending time with our friends, to lazing on the couch watching television, to gaming, to browsing social media, to dining out, and to sleeping in, these are all the type of activities that we can't get enough of, because they are easy, they are leisurely, and they require little effort and energy to do. Then we have the material things that we enjoy in life also, such as shopping for new clothes, treating ourselves to the new technological gadgets on the market, buying a new car, and shouting ourselves to brand name products. Oh how much more enjoyable life would be if we had millions of dollars to spend, and didn't have to worry about the likes of work, so we had more time to do the more leisurely and enjoyable activities in life? Such a life is a dream for so many of us. The issue is though, that for most of us, we don't have that wealth to live the high life that we desire, nor do we have that spare time up our sleeve to be spending on activities that involve little effort and energy, and that are good fun. We have that space invader on our daily schedule board that is labelled as "work", that we have a commitment to, and that consumes so much of our time. Perhaps work may not be so bad if we were raking in the dollars, but again, for most of us, that's not the case. So we are left with the situation that we continue on spending so much of our time at work, earning only enough income to get us by, and experiencing those few moments here and there where we can do some of the more enjoyable activities, and perhaps shout ourselves to the odd treat here and there. We hang our happiness hat on the weekend, annual leave, and that occasional shopping spree, basically. Not much of a life really, but that's the way how so many of us live. The truth is, we can live a life of prosperity and happiness if we want to, but most people choose not to, not for the fact we don't want such wonderful rewards and blessings, but for the fact we aren't prepared to change our ways, our habits, our mindset, and our attitude.
I believe that only a fool would think that genuine success and wealth isn't achieved from a lot of hard work, commitment, dedication, and sacrifice. Many people try and seek an easy option to success and wealth, such as winning the lottery, or via inheritance, and granted some people do get lucky, but for the majority of people who have ever gained success and wealth in their lives, they have had to endure and overcome some huge challenges, failures, rejections, and setbacks. They had to give up so much just to get where and what they desired to get in life. Such is what is required for success though. It's about making sacrifices of certain things that we love to do, that we enjoy, that we cherish, that are pleasurable, that are easier, and that are more leisurely. It should be a clear indication that having lived a life, for years on end, in which we haven't achieved the success we desire, nor have we achieved wealth and prosperity, that we need to change our ways, we need to change our habits, and we need to change our routine. We want to watch our favourite television show, but is watching our favourite television show leading us to success and prosperity? We want to spend the night out on the town with our friends, but is spending the night on the town with our friends the best way to invest in our future, or are we best using that money to invest in our goals, and best be using that time working on the actions that are tracking towards achieving them? We want to shout ourselves to a new IPhone, or a shopping spree for new clothes, but is spending that money on material things, that we don't truly need, going to lead us to success and prosperity, or are we better off investing those funds into working towards our goals? Of course we would rather watch television, of course we would rather go out on the town with our friends, and of course we would rather splurge on buying some new gear, but none of these are leading us to success and prosperity. We are investing our time and money into brief bursts of satisfaction and happiness, but yet sacrificing our long term happiness, success, goals, and prosperity in the process. Too many of us are simply not prepared to make sacrifices and give up some of these enjoyable, leisurely, and short term satisfying habits and activities.
Ask yourself two questions. First question, how much do you genuinely want your future to be blessed with success, happiness, goals accomplishment, satisfaction, fulfilment, and prosperity? Second question, if you do genuinely want your future to be blessed with success, happiness, goals accomplishment, satisfaction, fulfilment, and prosperity, then how much are you willing to sacrifice for it? You can't expect to be doing the same old actions, same old habits, and same old routine, to which none of these are generating any success, happiness, and prosperity, day after day, and expect positive results. Nothing is going to change unless you do! You need to be prepared to give up some of the good things in life, in order to generate some of the great things in life. Yeah, sure, the sacrifice sucks, and the actions that lead to success, happiness, and prosperity may be arduous, mundane, boring, and strenuous, but the rewards at the end of the journey will make all the sacrifice, commitment, and hard work all worth it. So what sort of future do you desire for yourself, because if you want a happy, successful, and prosperous one, then answer yourself this question, how much are you willing to sacrifice to achieve success?
