Remember the days when we used to play pretend? We used our innocent fearless imaginations to picture a world that didn't really exist, but it did in our hearts and minds. It made it so real and that's how most of us used to explore the world without even leaving a room. Those were the days!
The visions we had when we played were so real. We were free to think and feel whatever we desired. Bunkbeds morphed into a multilevel space ship with different compartments. Sheets and blankets separating different rooms. Books stacked to make control panels with buttons and levers from anything we could use from around the house or a room. Banging on pots and pans like a drummer. Playing tea time with dolls, stuffed animals, or building a makeshift castle and building an empire. Or maybe it was a hero we wanted to be running around saving people in distress. Do you remember that freedom? Remember as children wanting the very best for all and peace on earth? We wanted to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, end wars. The love and passion we felt being an advocate for what the world really needed. We were so young and selfless, a beautiful expression of life. Remember how caring and respecting nature and its animals were so important to us? That passion fueled our imagination feeding our souls. It seems like we have taken that beautiful gift we have and turned it against ourselves.
In the mainstream, those beautiful values we have are invisible and have become a figment of our imagination because it's rarely what we see every day. That same imagination is still there but, it has become a prison. A prison sentence drawn upon us by influence. So many seek such a selfish agenda not allowing others to utilize their ability to create the very best life for our families and those around us by placing illusory physical and material limits on what we can and cannot do. Even our food has financial criteria that has to be met in order to receive quality nourishment. What have we become? One may say we have become a culture of obedience and slavery rather than creative expression. Our preference has become physical and mental suffering for the benefit of others. We feed each other lies and misinformation so deep-seeded within our belief systems that we turn on each other like starving animals. It's a self-inflicted theft of the very thing that drives us, our inner aliveness!
We live divided because it is known that as long as a piece of paper has more value than life itself, this complex form of hierarchy and slavery will continue to reign. This isn't about a skin color, a political or social status, this isn't about who did what or the finger-pointing blame game. This is oppression so elaborately orchestrated that it is reinforced by innocent people swept away in its vastness of mental blindness. Most have embraced that change is not a good thing, why? We have become a race that is scared of itself and we should be. People don't even want to go outside anymore. We'd rather stay in our climate-controlled safety boxes armed with gadgets and comfort food delegating the future behind a mask of illusion. That very ignorance is the sickness that has bred our current reality.
Time heals all wounds and I can imagine a day when this disrespect and lack of value for life ends and "oh boy", does it feel good just knowing that but, until we take back our innocence and our imagination I feel we will continue to suffer. What can we do to make this a reality once again? We already know what it feels like therefore, it's real in our hearts and minds. Why not make it a real part of life? It's time to wake up and find out.
Unity is an answer.
