Never Stop Believing

Be a Rebel on Purpose

”Be strong now because things will get better. It might be stormy now, but it can’t rain forever.” Unkown

When life knocks us down, we can stay down or we can get up and be a force to be reckoned with. Life will always be tough but we can choose to face the adversity and uncertainty with being strong and resilient.

I had completed writing my new motivational and inspirational book, ‘Embrace the Change, Be a Rebel on Purpose.’ My book had been submitted to the editors for the final touches. The proofreading had been finished and the formatting had been completed. It was the 15th of February, 2020. I was an author! My first book!

This particular day began with rain and I was scheduled for a photo shoot for marketing my book and also to use as illustrations in the book. The photographer planned to do the shoot outside. I was keeping positive that the rain would subside and the sun would shine. As it happened, just before my appointment time, the sun decided to display it’s brightness and gleam for the the afternoon.

I knew the weather would be in my favour. I knew it wouldn’t rain because everything had been going in my favour for months now.

The photo shoot happened, the weather remained beautiful and everything was wonderful.

My book release would most likely happen by the end of March or beginning of April. My excitement had been rising daily. So many positive changes were happening for me. I had changed my life, written a motivational book and I was looking forward with excitement to the future.

Then March came and the world had changed. The Coronavirus pandemic was changing everything. The pandemic put a stop to a normal life. Life as we knew it was gone. We were facing one of the most calamitous events of the century. Adversity and misfortune happens sometimes but the magnitude of this crisis was unfathomable.

Who could have imagined that the entire world would be faced with isolation and quarantine? Who knew that this pandemic would last for months? Who knew that wearing masks would become normal? Who knew that our lives would be changed in the blink of an eye?

Adversity is a part of life. We can face the adversity and uncertainty with being strong and with a fighting spirit or we can choose to be negative and hide our heads in the sand. We cannot control what is happening around us but we can control how we think and how we react.

Will we be different after this crisis? Will we be able to work together again? Will we be able to hug one another again? Will we have learned a valuable lesson? Will we find peace and contentment again. So many questions to be answered still.

I choose to remain positive and responsible for my life. We get to choose our attitudes and our actions every single day.We get to choose regardless of our struggles.

There is light at the end of this deep dark tunnel. We humans are resilient and we are strong. Our lives will not be the same though . We will survive this calamity and we will be stronger after this is over. The survival instinct in us is substantial and runs deep within us.

I am optimistic that even though we will not be the same as before, we will be better. We will heal. The world will heal. We will go on as before but now with more knowledge and more empathy for the human race. We have gotten to know ourselves and our capabilities in just a few short months. We found out just how strong and capable we are. We have learned to be grateful for the little things. We have learned to work together with the global community. We have learned acceptance of our global neighbors.

We are learning to work with everyone, no matter what color, race or religion. We are learning compassion. We have learned to love our fellow human.

My book, ‘Embrace the Change, Be a Rebel on Purpose,’ was released April 27th. and has been extremely successful in these few short months. It has been called timely. The readers have said that the book has helped them to get through this very adverse time and has helped them to overcome the negativity that they have been going through.

My heart is full, I am happy and I am ready for what the future will bring to me. I practice gratitude every day for what I do have. I do not worry about the future. I know the future will be healed and I am thankful.

My heart is full today. I am looking forward to the future.
