My YouTube Channel Ended with 43 Public Watch Hours in 2025
I consider this to be a good start for my channel!

My YouTube channel has been quite the journey so far. I finally decided to start my official channel in 2025, a dream that I have been hesitating to act on for so many years. I was afraid to start my YouTube channel for the longest time, because I didn't have the skills to start a 'proper channel.'
I'm not good with technology per say, and I thought it would be a bad idea if I ever started a channel. I always doubted myself, believing that I wasn't meant to start a project like this.
Now, I'm glad that I pushed myself to go through with creating my channel. I had already created my horror channel beforehand, but I mostly focused on making random mini horror stories that were about 10 seconds or less. Now, I focus on making longer videos for my channel, and I'm so surprised with the results that I got in 2025.
43 public watch hours doesn't sound like a lot, but to me, it is a huge achievement.
I wasn't expecting to even reach at least 10 public watch hours. I felt like my videos were so mediocre, because I don't add enough edits to my videos. Since I'm not good with technology, I decided to stick with the old school stuff, by using only images, gifs, and my voiceover for my horror videos.
I was genuinely surprised to see the end results.
Several of my videos reached the triple digit mark, and one of my videos that was just my opinion of what I thought of a horror movie trailer, had reached 700 views. I wasn't expecting to also see people leave comments on my videos, expressing their own opinions on the horror topics I covered on the channel.
One specific video that did pretty good was the one based on the main character from the movie, The Godfather. I thought it was so cool to see people express their own thoughts on the character's journey, and now I'm strongly considering covering the second film for a new video!
Little stuff like that makes me happy that I decided to start my channel.
I never expected in a million years, that I would continue to create videos on YouTube. I thought at some point, I would become discouraged, another fear that I had, but instead, I kept on going, enjoying every single horror topic I talked about. I think what is making the channel so fun for me, is the different topics I go over for every single video.
Since I do focus mainly on horror, I knew that this would be an easy and fun niche for me to use, since I'm a massive horror fan!
I have a mini plan set up for the year of 2026, and I'm going to tackle quite a bit of horror topics for my videos:
- Character studies
- Reactions to horror movie trailers
- My thoughts on horror movies and videogames
- My thoughts on horror books
- Analysis on any horror story
I like to keep my channel simple, and it's fun to talk about my personal thoughts on stuff like this.

For those who are interested in starting a YouTube channel, please don't doubt yourself. Coming from someone who doesn't know how to use many pieces of technology like other YouTubers do, it does not matter. As long as you are having fun creating the content that you want to make, it will work out for you.
What matters is that you are enjoying what you love doing, and I highly recommend you focus on the topic that you love!
