Motivation for the Holidays
Times are tough. The Holidays are a stressful time, but for some the holidays are rough. Here is a little light for when you are feeling dark.

Its 2020 folks. The blows have all been under the belts. This year has been nothing but rounds of “Hold my beer” moments, with each situation growing worse as the time passes. With such a tumultuous year for world events, I am sure everyone has lost someone or knows somebody who has lost someone.
We have lost many people this year. We are a world in mourning. This becomes much more difficult as the Holidays drift closer. While most see the Holidays as a cheerful time, they also have a dark underside. Suicide rates skyrocket from mid-November through the New Year.
A good portion of those suicides are attributed to depression, grief, sadness, loneliness. The negative side of life is ugly. There is only so much the world can throw at a person before they bow under the pressure. Therefore, one must always take the time to appreciate the positives life hands them.
Losing a loved one can be too much to bear for many people. Especially one that you were close to or relied on. Humans are social creatures, and they rely on social bonds to get through the rough patches of life. Unfortunately, not everyone has that kind of social web or support system.
Look out for your family and friends as the holidays come closer. I would say smile at a stranger, but with the mask mandate in effect it is best to wear a smiley face mask instead. Do something kind and pay it forward. You never know whose life you can save with a simple kindness.
If you know someone who is struggling, reach out. Offer to talk or keep them company. Pull them away from the edge. All the little pleasure makes living life enjoyable again.
In one of my last posts I said that we should all enjoy the little things. I meant it. You have to find your own happy medium. A way for you to keep yourself motivated and forward thinking. For me this happens when I read a book, or when I start writing. When I write, it immerses me into another world.
I know how hard it is to break out of your own shell; I am the definition of an introvert, worse in high school I was labeled as the nerd. Thus why I became The Nerdy Introvert. People need social interactions to survive in this world.
Talk about what’s bothering you with someone else, do not bottle it up. If you need to cry, cry and get it out of your system. Accept yourself, and just breath. Know that everything is going to be alright, and you will get through this. A storm may roll through one day, but the sun will eventually come out. A new day will dawn.

If you have fallen hard this year, find the strength to take another step. Find ways to motivate yourself throughout the day. It will get better. Believe in yourself, and in others.
There is always another amazing opportunity around the corner, and good news is just on the horizon. Trust in yourself, and those you choose to have around you because life is not meant to be lived in the dark.

Live your life out in the light, so you may feel the sun on your skin and enjoy beauty in the world. Carve out some time for a bit of self-love and self-care. Have a spa day. Nurture every positive emotion until it blooms into joy.
Thank you so much for reading with me and remember to care for yourself and others. Enjoy the Holidays with family, or friends , and keep your spirits up. Happy holidays!
