What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Rob Eberle and I’m an 18 year old Alternative Pop artist originally from Long Island, New York. I am currently based & living in Brooklyn!
Why do you love what you do?
I’ve always known that I’ve wanted to have a life and career in the music industry. I grew up with music. My dad has always been involved in the music industry and has always inspired me to go after all of my goals. My dad has been in a band called “Iridesense” for almost 30 years now. I still remember going to all of their gigs and begging to perform with them at only 5 years old. There’s videos of me on stage holding a microphone that wasn’t connected and I always laugh. I think that’s what really inspired my love for performing. I also used to carry around a plastic shopping bag full of their CDs trying to sell them because I just wanted their music to be heard. I bring this up because my dad has inspired me so much and has really convinced me to chase my dreams. I am also currently going to school for Music Technology, Production, Entrepreneurship & Voice at the Roc Nation School of Music and Entertainment in Brooklyn, New York. I chose to go to this school because I wanted to grow as an artist and further develop my craft. So far being two semesters in, I feel as though schooling has helped me grow in all my aspirations.
What makes you different?
I make Alternative Pop music and am very genre fluid. I just want to create. Even if I don’t make a hit song I just love to create using weird sounds; picking from literally every & any genre and I think that’s what we need more of in the industry. Over the pandemic I picked up music production and I feel that has opened my mind to be more creative and create less “traditional” pop music.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself touring and sharing my music with the world. I love to travel and love to see new things so touring is definitely one of my long term artist goals. I hope to have a ton more music out, hopefully an album or two and inspire people to do better for the world.
What do you want to accomplish in life?
I want my music to be successful enough for me to provide for my family, friends, fans & my community. I love giving back. I’m making music for them.
What do you bring to your industry?
Songwriting. I’ve been writing for forever. I wrote my first song at 12 years old. Writing about things that made no sense was definitely my forte back then. Whether that be made up situations in my head or me just throwing words together. As I’ve gone through my teenage years and experienced new things, I have been more open to writing about real life situations where I’ve felt vulnerable. It’s a coping mechanism for me for sure. Although my songs when I was younger might’ve not been the greatest things I’ve ever wrote, I believe my current songwriting today is what makes me strong in this industry.
How do you want to be remembered?
I am a huge advocate for mental health. I want people to feel like my music can be a safe haven to relax and just sit back & enjoy my craft. Almost as a de-stresser. I struggle with a lot of anxiety and I cope with it by listening to my favorite artists. I hope my music could do the same for people who are struggling with the same things that I’m going through. I want my music to move people enough to be an advocate for the world. I literally just want people to be kind to one another and I hope my music gives you insight into a human being who just yearns to have the world be kind to him.
