Meet Lussoul (Lou-Sew)

What’s your name and where are you  from?

My Name is Lussoul (Lou-Sew) and I’m from Yonkers NY

Why do you love what you do?

What I do gives me a sense of freedom, I love making music I used to write a lot of poetry growing up. Kept me grounded in my own space even when it wasn’t safe to socialize. Though I’m from NY I went to school in Baltimore Maryland in one of the toughest school districts at the time. Whenever I felt too weighed down my pen and pad was my escape from my realities and always gave me an ear that was unrivaled to anyone I could possibly talk too. Growing up without a father and my mom working to provide for me and my brother made my rhyme book my only escape.

I fell in love with it and honestly can’t live without it.

What makes you different?

My story’s of empowerment and self love, I’m here to break the chains of division and mental slavery as well as empowering my African American people. My lyrics depict a power that shows experience to be the greatest teacher, and I thank god for pulling me out of the situations that have brought me to this moment in time where I can even express my hardships. I know there’s a lot of storytellers and what not but all my favorite ones told similar stories about love and struggle in totally different ways. And That’s what I bring to this thing of ours.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I definitely see myself helping out another person who sees the world the way I see it right now, Lussoul mentoring them to expand and explore their potential and limitations. I would hope to have given back millions if not billions to the people through knowledge and education. Showing that we are all equal and everyone no matter what their race orientation or gender deserves their respect and right to choose their path as a human being first.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

I want to make this world a better place with my mic and lyrical abilities. If I can inspire one person I’d be happy but if I can inspire a world that’s even better. Our job as a people is to leave this world in a better state for the next generation to pick up and make better. Id be happy to accomplish and inspire that with music.

What do you bring to your industry?

I bring a word bank full of knowledge and raw experience, I’m not the typical hip hop artist. I believe in originality and respect for those who paved the way and allowed me to have the opportunity to make money through my passion. I bring raw lyrical skill through my music, nothing less than my soul on every track. A jazzy type feel that has never been seen before and I’m excited for this album to be released.

What do you want to be remembered by?

I want to be remembered for my love for the people hard work and determination. Hip hop as said by KRS one is the knowledge movement, you’re hip because you’re in the know and hop is a movement. Through our language we are escalating each other or we’re destroying each other and I’d love to be remembered for building us up. As a lyrical revolutionist that’s exactly what I wanna be remembered for. Bringing a new light to Hip Hop and paving a road for the next generation. Ok ok
