My name is AO Dre and I am from Houston, Tx and currently based in Dallas. I represent and founded a film group called Waves, Tx, consisting of 3 other members based in Texas.
I have a passion for music that began when I was incredibly young, at an early age I would listen to acts like Michael Jackson, Metallica, gospel, and old school rap. After entering my preteen adolescence, I was introduced to more mainstream hip-hop artists who helped influence my beginning stages of rapping. Acts such as: T.I., Z-Ro, Tupac, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West to name a few. Once my cousins and I started rapping together at the age of eleven, I grew in skill slowly over time and I fell in love with the artistry. I never stopped rapping, freestyling, writing, and soon the poetry I dabbled in and the lyrics I began to write turned into full-fledged songs.
I am different as an artist because of how I engage with my fans, friends, and family; that is what I consider the people who support me by listening to my music, watching my videos, and interacting with my social media. I show much love to my supporters because they do not have to be there, but they are; so shoutouts, personalized messages and giveaways are second nature to me. I want my supporters to know that I appreciate them as much as they appreciate my music.
In 5 years, I see myself in feature films, starring or co-starring in a television series, working directly in public speaking, doing mini music tours, and taking care of a family (my own). This seems like a lot to most people but honestly, I love to stay busy. This will be my balancing act. Right now, I am working towards these goals by consistently releasing videos and music for fans and soon-to-be fans, updating my supporters on my activities and drops and working and writing dialogue for my YouTube series that I have been slowly creating and polishing.
My accomplishments will be nothing short of creating my own series for online or cable, directing film and filmmaking. Also, I have a large interest in public speaking but that could just be my passion for performing because I thoroughly enjoy getting on stage and putting on a show for any audience.
In this industry of music, I bring charisma and versatility. Yes I rap but I am not defined by what I do, I do not live in a world of definitions. I bring acceptance into a realm of mind where music meets vision. The lyrics over melody that I provide shows a look into something that no other artist I have heard in any genre, primarily hip-hop can do. I bring artistry but along with artistry, I bring visuals and graphic art and advertisements and vlogging and cooking shows and so much more. I am here to bridge the gap between the rest of the world (the world that has never listened to rap or chooses not to listen) and fans of the music genre itself.
I will be embedded in the memories of others by my flashpoint; this is what gets me hot and keeps me there. I want people to know and remember that if it was not for me then there would not be an opening for an artist (especially a beginner) to be able to start with a cooking show or reality show and use that as a way into the industry. I want fans to know that I did this for the future of rap.
