MEDITATION

The game changer of life

By Rakibun Published 8 months ago 2 min read

Meditation is a straightforward but profound practice that aids in mental clarity, stress reduction, and overall well-being. Meditation allows us to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life and reconnect with ourselves. We can do this by focusing on the breath, chanting a mantra, or simply observing our thoughts without judging. Regular meditation has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve concentration, and even improve sleep, according to scientific studies. Whether practiced for just five minutes or an hour, meditation offers a way to cultivate mindfulness—a state of being fully present in the moment.

Meditation does not necessitate mindlessness or complete silence, contrary to popular belief. Instead, it’s about training the mind to be more aware and less reactive. Different ways to engage with the practice are provided by body scan exercises, guided meditation, and loving-kindness meditation. Over time, meditation can help develop emotional resilience, making it easier to handle life’s challenges with clarity and calm.

Start small for beginners; even a few minutes a day can make a big difference. Guidance can be obtained from apps, online videos, or local meditation groups. The accessibility of meditation, which only requires a willingness to pause and breathe, is what makes it so appealing. Meditation is a timeless tool that enables people to live more mindfully and joyfully, whether for spiritual development, mental health, or relaxation.

Meditation in different religions:

Hinduism (before 1500 BCE): The Vedas in ancient India contain the earliest written descriptions of meditation as a means of self-realization and spiritual connection. Buddhism: Siddhartha Gautama, also known as the Buddha, developed techniques for meditation in the sixth century BCE with an emphasis on mindfulness and insight (Vipassana). Qigong and movement meditation based on mindfulness emerged in Taoism (China, 6th century BCE). Christian contemplative prayer began in the third century CE. Early Christian monks engaged in silent prayer and meditation to strengthen their connection to God. Dhikr, or remembrance of God, was practiced by Sufism, an Islamic mysticism that dates back to the eighth century CE.

Physical Health Benefits of Meditation:

Lowers blood pressure – Meditation activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation. Reduce stress and anxiety.

Include positivity in life.

Control lower blood pressure, etc.

Meditation activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps to reduce stress. it also helps in many unconscious body function.

Meditation isn’t about achieving perfection—it’s about showing up for yourself daily. Whether you seek stress relief, spiritual growth, or mental clarity, meditation is a powerful tool available to everyone. Scientific research has increasingly validated what spiritual traditions have long known: meditation positively impacts the brain, body, and emotions. The numerous and well-documented advantages of meditation range from lowering levels of anxiety and depression to enhancing concentration and emotional resilience.

Albert Einstein thinks 99 times and finds nothing. He stops thinking, swims in silence, and the truth comes to him. The thinking process itself is meditation. The Buddha said, "Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back."

If we include meditation in our daily life, it will boost our lives with positive energy and remove negativity.
