2 Reasons You Are Unhappier Than You Should Be
#1 There is so much power in your focus. One thing that is nice about being a human being is that we have the ability to focus. You may be thinking, why is that so great? We can choose to focus on whatever we want when we want. That should be the best news ever! Think about that, we have the ability, day in and day out, to focus on what we personally want to. Now whether that is thinking about what makes you happy, what you want to come into your life, or what is going wrong in your life, YOU have the choice. That power gives you the ability to feel good more of the time even though for most of us it is doing the opposite.

Purposeful Living?
It started when I woke up one day to a knock at my door. I lived in a dorm room with forty women. One woman came in asking me if I could go with her to get a flu shot and I said yes, of course. This one favor may not seem like it could lead to a whole turn around of my lifestyle, but it did when she had a favor a day. Soon, I was pushing my own responsibilities. I stopped going to the gym, eating when I was hungry, doing my laundry every week, and making my bed every day. My own responsibilities did not compare to taking care of others. I resented my friends and the people I spent time with because it felt more like a chore than my own choice. By spending time with others, I knew I could push my anxieties and depression to the back of my mind. Until, they would come out at my least convenience: at the grocery store, falling asleep at night, or in class. All I ever wanted was to be alone and sleep. Sleep because I hadn't slept that night and be alone because my friends weren't real friends. I was a puppet, completing their tasks and making them happy. Where was my happiness?

It's Okay to Not Be Okay
By now you probably already know that life does not always go the way you intend it to. Whether you didn’t get that awesome job you interviewed for, you got a flat tire on the way to take that test you are already late to, or maybe you had to sit in front of the bathtub and pick lice out of your daughter's hair for the third time this month. Life has its own way of bringing you down. Being in situations such as these can definitely put you in your feelings and cause you to be anxious.

Why I Gave up Social Media and Came Here
Ah good ole social media... Where we can waste hours of our day with nothing to show for our time. Where misinformed adults and naive teens can rant with the confidence of scholars. Not to say nothing good has come from it, however I believe it in many ways has become the cesspool of humanity. I would challenge any person seeking self-improvement to take a two-week break from all popular forms of social media. Find another outlet to fill your spare time with.

Overcoming Obstacles & Redefining Failure
I am a person who has embarked on several new beginnings in my life. I have moved to new cities, taken on challenging jobs, completed university, and fallen in love. One thing I have recognized is that during every one of my achievements I have been burdened with many obstacles. Like, things that should go smoothly, and otherwise should have been simple. But then they drag on, and I must decide “Is this a sign I should stop?” or “Is this a test?”

Improving Yourself at Work and in Your Personal Life
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I am a United States Marine on his lunch break and thought I would share some tips and advice I've picked up during my life. I see a lot of brand new marines, "Boots," as we call them come to the motor pool each week. They tend to do one of two things, neither of which is helpful to anyone. They either run and hide trying not to be noticed; in which case they come back the next day able to contribute nothing more than the day before; or they continuously get in the way of someone trying to do their job. There is healthy in between, however, it seems to be hard for the average person to grasp. Here's a few tips to not only be a better help but to make your day goes as smoothly as possible with the minimum amount of ass-chewings.

Navigating Young Adulthood with No Parental Guidance
When you're a kid, the phrase "Mother knows best" usually means that you have to do something that your mother wants you to do or not do something that your mother thinks you shouldn't be doing. While when you're young, "Mother knows best" usually means you just lost a fight, this phrase can bring immense comfort and relief to those same kids when they begin the journey into young adulthood. Many of my friends also in their early 20s use their parents as a lifeline for what to do for a job interview, when you go to the doctor by yourself, how to not turn all of your clothes pink in the washer, easy recipes to make, and some even see their parents as a 24-hour-ATM. BUT, if you're reading this, I'm sure you know that we are not all blessed with loving, supportive parents that show you how to adult. That's why I've put together some tips and resources that I've found helpful for learning how to navigate young adulthood with no parental guidance. I hope that this helps someone through this very difficult transition, and even though it isn't the traditional way to grow up, you're not alone, and you can still accomplish all of your goals while creating a life that you enjoy living.
