Meet Kelly Limerick, the Crotchet Artist in iPhone Commercials
I remembered this girl the first time I came across the iPhone X selfie commercial. All the other selfies in that commercial are largely your standard portrait shots—monochrome color scheme, soft edges around the people. But this girl, she was literally bursting in colorful dreads, all screaming for every ounce of my attention; her eyes, her makeup all seemed alien-like.

Learned to Love Writing
When I was younger, I didn't really enjoy writing as much as the next person. I did enjoy reading though. But, there was something about writing that just made me want to throw out the pen and paper. It could have been the hand cramps, or the topics in English class I never enjoyed. I was fourteen at the time. I wanted to hang out with my friends, play sports, go to the movies, just have a good time and have fun. That was until I started to daydream and had to get these ideas on paper.

How to Be More Optimistic
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. In life, balance is one of our universal truths. We see balance in everything: up/ down, in/ out, black/ white, birth/death, inhale/exhale, cause/ effect, the list just keeps going. No matter how an equation is spilled out—the answers are equal on both sides of the equal sign. Balance: how the world keeps spinning. People say “Karma’s a bitch” but at the end of the day, that’s just things coming around full circle. I can bet that you’ve had struggles in your life, some people more than others. I can also bet that you’ve had some fun and joyful times as well. Here’s the bottom line: the energy in this universe is balanced. Positive/ negative. Did you know that smiling releases dopamine? Action/reaction. If I speak into a cave, you know what’s echoing back? Those same damn words. If I’m playing golf and I think “Do not hit it in the water on the the right,” my mind won’t register the “NOT” and I am definitely going to be dropping a ball. My mind thought it into existence. Let’s talk about a few ways that will help you be more optimistic and in turn give you daily happiness and progression in your life.

Becoming an Adult Far from Everything
One year ago, I took the plane to cross the ocean. Six hours later, I was in an other dimension: North America. Quite a big deal for a 18-year-old boy who's never lived far from his family. I was completely unconscious. I did not even know what I was doing... But I did it.

We Need Pioneers and Less Settlers
There's a lot of talks about race and representation in the media today. I think the media is making it a bigger deal than it should be. Some of the interviews I've read recently had me questioning the motives of the article. Do we need to see a representation of ourselves to know what we want to do in life? I don't think so. If there's something that we truly want to do we should find ways of doing it. I know it's impossible for everyone to think alike but the media makes it sound like there's a general consensus that we need others to pave a path for us. Why do we even need to follow paths? With everything changing today will this even be talked about in the future?

Vulnerability, a Love Hate Relationship
Cozied up on the couch listening to some late night jazzy tunes with my laptop and Bailey’s over ice in hand…. I feel like this is the perfect time for me to discuss a topic that some of us may have mastered and others, still try to avoid.

The Numbers of Life
We all do it; the whole of society measures their lives by numbers. The numbers on the scales. The number of people we have sex with. The number of online friends (or enemies) we have. The number that reads on our bank balance. We are all told these numbers matter. We are told if our numbers aren't good enough then we should be ashamed of ourselves, our self worth is worthless.

Be the Black Sheep
Many of us “sheep” of society choose to base our everyday life and actions on whatever’s going on in the world. We always find ourselves going everyday with the flow of society. It’s easier to make friends and get followers that way anyways right..? While very few of us “black sheep” of society rather go the hard way. If you asked me I say it's the hard way or the highway; Following a blind society is something that kills our energy, beats us into depression, and drives us to be anxious. Tell me, where does your happiness truly lie? I highly doubt its in following some of the latest trends in society.
