Identity
Once upon a time, in an unknown town in a neighborhood without sidewalks following a long driveway end to a small house with only three bedrooms lives a girl. A girl who has medium brown hair, green eyes, ivory skin with freckles and with the height truly 4'11" but she will always say 5'. There she lives with her two parents and three older siblings. Her brothers and sisters are special ones. How, you may ask? Simple, they are triplets. To most people, this is a shock. People ask her what’s it like? Is it weird? Is it stressful? But these aren’t questions for her. These would be questions to her parents, for this abnormality is normal to her. When you are born into things, it tends to be a lot easier to live with said things. Yet, when she is told tell something unique about herself, that’s all she can come up with. Her uniqueness isn’t her own. She is a completely ordinary person. Or is she? That’s for you to find out.

Growing up can be a challenge for so many people that are transitioning into adulthood. Once high school graduation is over it comes time to consider what they will be doing for the rest of their lives. It is a challenging decision that requires a lot of insight before a decision is made.

The UNBEATABLE Guide to Success
1. Create a pros and cons list. This is my absolute favorite way to make big decisions, honestly. Be completely real when doing it. Don’t just make a bunch of pointless bullets on one side. The more real the more accurate, the more accurate the closer you are to really knowing whether it’s all worth it. Really dig deep.

Let’s Begin
My journey is one that comes with many challenges and with each one it was a test of my character and of my strength. Everyone has a story and everyone can help someone in a different way. What makes your story better than mine? Nothing, because we all have a story and a journey that has to be told. For me, it’s dealing with mental illnesses, alcohol abuse, sexual abuse, and many more. So, I say where to begin? Where do I start in telling my story and letting you follow my journey? I believe that in life we should always strive to be our best selves. I believe that in doing so, we can help people in different ways. For me, my story is one that I feel may be able to help someone. For all the pain that I’ve felt, I want to let it out. I want my journey to show who I am as a person and how far I’ve come. Yes, I still have a long way to go before my journey ends, but until then I’m not giving up on being the best me I can be.

Breaking Up with Self Doubt
So I recently decided to begin the journey of breaking up with self-doubt. Let’s be real, self-doubt has kept us all from doing what it is we really want to do with our lives. We come up with great ideas to begin the planning process but never do the necessary leg work because we let our inner negative thoughts deter us. Self-doubt is normal but we have to come up with ways to overcome the fear. One thing I found out about myself is a lot of my self-doubt came from me not wanting to step out of comfort zone. I consider myself to be a pretty independent person and I don’t like asking for help unless I really have no choice. I am a single mother so I’ve always played it safe. So for years, I used the excuse of having children to stop me from taking pursuing a lot of my dreams and goals. Because I now know that about myself, every day I have started challenging myself to one thing a day that takes me out of my comfort zone. These things are sometimes small but it allows me to get a feel of myself mentally and emotionally doing something different. Knowing yourself also plays a major role in self-doubt. Sometimes we think we know ourselves or think we know what we want for ourselves based on other outside factors, but we haven’t taken the time to do a self-report inventory. Just because your zodiac sign is Gemini doesn’t mean you have to feed into the stereotype of having a split personality. Just because you come from a family of nurses doesn’t mean you have to be a nurse. Learn yourself and you’ll find out your true passion. Learning yourself requires some honesty that may be a tough pill to swallow. So after coming up with the topic for today’s episode, I asked several people why they often doubt themselves and a lot of people said “Lack of confidence.” I found this answer interesting because the definition of self-doubt is “lack of confidence in oneself or one's abilities.” Not being confident in your actions will kill your goals every time. I found that the most common way to overcome lack of confidence is believing in yourself. If you keep the mindset of "I’m not where I use to be," you’ll go far with accomplishing your goals.

Being an Actor
"Oh, it must be so glamorous to be an actor!" This is something that you hear so much, when the reality is so different. 95% of actors are out of work and known as 'resting actors'. This was me for many years—working as a paper girl, a waitress, flyering on street corners. I'm fortunate now as I have a few projects already in the pipeline and films I have worked on are starting to be released in some cinemas (hooray!). Guys, this has taken fifteen years of my life, sacrifices that I have made to keep the dream and hope alive. If you want to be an actor, your skin needs to be as thick as a crocodile's skin! I can assure you that you can do it. Take the rejections as lessons, rather than failures. Once, I was told after being down to the last two actors for a role, "Sorry, Rachel, you are so talented, but your cheekbones are wrong for the character". I mean, I couldn't exactly say I'd go to a plastic surgeon to maybe change my cheekbones...so instead of destroying my face I thought, "what good can I take away from this rejection?" 1) I got down to the last two out of thousands of women, 2) they said I was very talented.

The Fear of Failure
I will begin with Surviving in the World Tip: #1. This first tip has to do with one of the gushing horrors of the world. The big, bad, crushing, coercive, evils that make us run in fear. FAILURE (Queue the screeching violins, and meandering piano progressions from every horror film). So many of us are afraid to do something, and are scared to be ourselves, because we can’t bear to look failure in the eyes and say F*** you... FREE you, duh! What, did you think I was saying the f-word?
