Just Do It!
The everyday battles for the goals and dreams
The title says it all on how to get done with anything. The only way to get it done is really “just do it.” Many of us watch motivational videos on how to get through the day and reach our goals and agendas. But what we forget is when we put forth the effort and take that first step, all that transpired was starting. We all have goals, dreams, and visions! But most of us are just going through the motions either because of lack of motivation, fear, an unreachable goal, you name it! With these excuses right there, I want you to throw them in the deleted file in the back of your mind because after you read this, you’ll be a changed person. Yes, we are going down the Shia LaBeouf road. COME ON! JUST DO IT!
1. Know your FREQUENCY!
WHAT TYPE OF DAY PERSON ARE YOU? Many of us want to complete the numerous tasks that we are given day today, but to do that, we have to know our ENERGY LEVELS. If you’re a NIGHT PERSON like me, you become in tune with that inner vampire, which will boost your day. Morning person, hey! I’m sure you're waking up with that raisin bran smile. Afternoon person, as I said, get in tune with that sasquatch energy. Your energy levels are about knowing yourself and knowing your FREQUENCY, which gives you that energy and boosts in the day. JUST DO IT! KNOW YOURSELF!
2. Make that BED! JUST DO IT!
We all heard the great speech of making your bed, and if one hasn’t heard well, then they're still stuck in their sheets. You don’t just make a bed because it will look tidy-NO! MAKING YOUR BED GIVES YOU THE MOTIVATION TO DO SOMETHING ELSE IN YOUR DAY and a neatly well-made bed when you come back home from a long day. JUST DO IT! Make that bed.
3. GET THAT MUSIC PUMPING!
Hey, there's no need for much explaining on this. Music will get you working! If the boss is getting mad, bump up that Linkin Park song “What I’ve Done” on speaker, and Shia Labeouf will gladly speak to the boss for you through the lyrics. Depending on the day when we were most tired, we need that music to help us get through the rough patches, especially during the pandemic. Music helps everyone, so listen to that favorite track-JUST DO IT!
4. GOOGLE CALENDAR UPGRADED BY Shia Labeouf!
Google calendar helps us with our many day-to-day tasks with the many schedules and appointments; it’s a time-saver, but the one thing that it doesn’t do is finish our job. When I mean job, I mean that we always put off minor tasks for the next week, let it be exercising, starting up a diet, or meeting little Johnny-you name it! Life does get in the way but with the Shia Labeouf CALENDAR UPGRADE, just doing it takes the form of a promise. Promise a friend or close family member that you will get the TASK DONE, and if not, then you buy them something; this is a sure-fire way to get you COMMITTED-JUST DO IT! Here’s an example:
HANK: So I’m trying to start working out by exercising 20mins per day. If I miss any day this whole week, then I’ll buy you something, Zack. I’ll send a picture each time of my progress.
Zack: Uhhh ok-Buy me a car then.
Hank: Deal!

5. Writing anything on a PIECE OF PAPER
If you suffer from a bad habit, addiction, lack of motivation. A PIECE OF PAPER WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! Not just any paper but a paper you write your thoughts on about preventing the falls of going back into a bad habit or addiction. You can even write positive affirmations and Bible verses for dealing with hate and lack of motivation. THIS PAPER IS SUPPOSED TO GO ON THE WALL RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR BED. The paper has changed my life. I’ve been trying to wake up at a reasonable time instead of late in the morning, from jotting down tricks and techniques on a piece of paper to get up even when tired has helped me. As soon as I wake up, I wrote down that WAKE-UP, then go back to sleep and wake up on the next alarm in 20mins. When I awake again, I stay awake and realize that instead of going back to sleep, I can get a 15-20 min timed sleep also LATER in the morning, don’t forget to make the bed. Reading the paper, which would be on MY WALL in the morning, gave me the convenience of reading and gaining that motivation and mindset to start my day and get that 15-20min sleep again rather than hitting that snooze button constantly.
Honorable mentions: Reading the Bible to organize the day with God spiritually, journaling, life coaches, and a good old video of Shia Labeouf's “Just Do It!”
-Yesterday, you said tomorrow- “Just Do It”- Make your dreams come true!
