Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi, born on October 5, 1952, in Lahore, Pakistan, is one of the most prominent figures in the modern history of Pakistan. His journey from a world-famous cricketer to a philanthropist and then to the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan is a tale of determination, transformation, and resilience.

Early Life and Education
Imran Khan was born into a well-educated Pashtun family. He belonged to the Niazi tribe and was the only son among four sisters. He received his early education at Aitchison College in Lahore, one of Pakistan’s most prestigious schools. He later attended Royal Grammar School in Worcester, England, and then studied at Keble College, Oxford, where he graduated with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics in 1975.

Cricket Career
Imran Khan made his debut for the Pakistan national cricket team in 1971, at the age of 18. He was a fast bowler and a powerful all-rounder, and his charisma and competitive spirit quickly made him a leader on the field. Over the next two decades, he would go on to become one of the greatest cricketers in the world.

His most iconic moment came in 1992, when he led Pakistan to its first-ever Cricket World Cup victory. Under his captaincy, the team overcame several odds to defeat England in the final. In 1994, after years of fundraising and hard work, he inaugurated the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore. Today, it is one of the leading cancer treatment facilities in the region, offering care to thousands of patients regardless of their ability to pay.

In addition to the hospital, he also established Namal University in Mianwali, aiming to provide quality education to students in rural areas. His charity work earned him widespread respect and made him a beloved figure beyond the cricket field.

Entry into Politics
Imran Khan entered politics in 1996, founding the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), meaning "Movement for Justice." Removal from Office and Later Years
In April 2022, Imran Khan was ousted from office through a vote of no-confidence in the National Assembly—the first Prime Minister in Pakistan’s history to be removed this way. He claimed this was part of a foreign conspiracy and began a strong political campaign against the new government.

After his ouster, Khan remained a central figure in Pakistani politics. He continued to attract large crowds and maintained significant support among the population, especially the youth. However, his political movement also faced pressure from the military establishment and legal troubles, including disqualification from elections and arrests in 2023 and 2024.
