With the advancement in technology, people have made themselves so busy that most of the people in this world have become a victim of depression. Everyone in this world is running a rat race in order to earn more money but they do not care about taking time for themselves and finally what happens will happen is that they fall into the trap of depression and anxiety. And when they become a victim of depression, then it severely affects their health and in turn, they have to spend all their earnings on medical expenses. So it would be better to take precautions till we reach that final stage.

What is the use of earning more money if we work hard without break and if it has a bad impact on our health?

Our body has certain limitations to cope with. I have noticed many people doing overtime in the office for a longer time and finally, they end up falling sick on one day because when you work too hard without taking a break then it affects your body and mind and in turn it causes depression.

We all become depressed at some time or the other if the situation is not in sync with us and it fades away when time passes on and it’s a natural thing to occur but if it does not move away from your mind for a longer time then it is a sign of depression. This is a kind of psychological effect that one should understand. If you are facing this issue, then you need to take the precautionary steps as early as possible otherwise it will have a bad impact on your life.

Before letting you know, how to deal with how to get rid of depression or anxiety, we will first try to understand the causes and symptoms of depression:

Causes of depression:

  1. Abuse such as physical, sexual, or emotional abuse that happened in a person’s life might be the cause of depression
  2. Even the intake of drugs or medication makes someone fall into depression
  3. Conflict with family members or with friends or any person
  4. Death or loss of your near and dear ones because it has a strong emotional attachment
  5. Some causes of depression might be genetic in case. If someone in the family has a medical history of depression, then it can affect some of the family members in a genetic way.
  6. Events such as losing a job or income, getting divorced, loss in business, financial loss, and stock market crash can be the reason for causing depression

Symptoms or signs of depression:

  1. If you are facing a lack of focus on work for a longer time there is a possibility then you are into depression
  2. Lack of sleep is the major symptom of depression. The depressed mind cannot get a good sleep at all
  3. Lack of interest could be the main symptom because, at times, a person experiences that they are not able to show interest in doing certain activities for a longer time
  4. Person feels nervousness, restlessness, or feeling tense
  5. Person feels that they are in danger or in severe threat with no specific reason
  6. There could be muscle trembling or twitching happens
  7. More often when the person shows irritation even on smaller things, then it could be a sign of depression
  8. While in a depression state, people might eat more and gain weight and some people eat less and lose weight because appetite differs from person to person
  9. If a person cannot control their emotion and if they become more sensitive to the bad things that happened to them, then it means that he is more depressed
  10. Avoiding social relationships might be a sign of depression because the people who are more depressed, do not socialize with people and they tend to spend their time in loneliness

Don’t assume that if the person becomes a victim of depression, then there is no cure for it. The below simple tips will help you to get rid of depression in a much better way:

Thoughts:

Experts estimate that our mind thinks 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts per day in a conscious or in an unconscious manner. Throughout our life we are guided only by our thoughts and whatever we are today is because of our thoughts. So we need to take more care of which thoughts to apply in our life. Naturally, our mind is attracted more to negative thoughts and due to this, we get depressed more often.

Thoughts are the natural thing. It cannot be stopped but it can be controlled. With steady practice, a person can control his or her thoughts and can replace negative thoughts with positive ones. So take control of your negative thoughts by consciously looking at them or making yourself aware all the time. When you are aware of your thoughts, you will see that your thoughts only last for a few seconds.

Just be busy:

It was said that the calm mind is the devil’s mind where unnecessary thoughts come into our minds. When you keep yourself busy doing something or another task then your mind will not get a chance to jump into thinking about unwanted things.

So every time when you are free, make sure that you are busy doing tasks such as playing sports, having fun, talking to people, playing with children, doing exercise, reading books, and listening to music.

Meditate:

Meditation is the most important one that every person should understand if they are thinking about how to tackle depression. I understand that due to a busy schedule, one cannot regularly dedicate specific time for meditation but they can practice Mindful meditation at any time. Mindful meditation is the best remedy to calm your mind. It is nothing but being aware of what you are doing on daily basis. You should be aware while you walking, talking, eating or it could be any kind of action you are performing.

Try Mindful Meditation and it will surely bring better results in a very short period of time.

Exercise and Yoga:

Performing exercise and yoga releases certain kinds of chemicals in our minds which helps us to keep our minds healthy and happy. Try to dedicate a certain amount of time to exercise or yoga on daily basis to deal with depression. At least dedicate 30 minutes the exercise a day in order to get the maximum benefits.

Smile:

There are times when the situation is out of control, we were not able to calm our minds. In such a situation, you can create a fake smile. Yes. Fake the smile until you make it. When you practice doing this, you can fool your mind easily and can boost up your mind quickly.

Take time for the outing:

If you are busy going to the office on daily basis and fed up doing 9 to 5 jobs without taking long breaks, then you need to plan out something like going for an outing with your family or friends. With this, you get an opportunity to spend time with your family and friends and most importantly you get time to share your views with them.

Medication:

Most people try to consult the doctor and go for medication, whenever they feel depressed. I can say that this is not the right approach to curing depression. One needs to understand that depression is a natural sign and it can be cured in a natural way also. Taking medication will make the situation worst because people get used to it and finally they cannot come out of depression without taking medicine. Even it affects their sleep in a bad manner.

Laugh harder:

The harder you laugh, the calmer your mind will be. Nowadays, we have forgotten to laugh harder. There are groups formed just for the purpose of laughing harder in the morning. I was not aware of such a thing but when I was on my way to my home in the morning, I found a group of 10 to 15 people aged between 40 to 60 standing on the corner of the road and laughing harder in a different style. At first, when I saw them doing such unusual things, I was a bit shocked but when I came to know that this is a kind of treatment that makes the person happy and healthy.

This method is one of the simple tricks that you can apply in your life because you just need to fake it until you make it harder. So even though you are not feeling like laughing or smiling, then just fake it and in a matter of time you will observe that your mind gets happy. We can fool our minds with this method to boost our minds.

Personality matters:

Every person deserves respect because all human being is of one kind. We should not wait for someone to respect us, but if we want respect from someone then we should be the ones who should give respect to them. The more you give respect, the more you will get. Giving respect builds your personality of yours in a better way. Once you develop a pleasing personality by giving respect to others and treating others in a kind manner, then people will start treating you in the same manner. Eventually, they will start liking you and you will become a more approachable person for them.

If a person does not have a pleasing personality, then he can’t expect that people will like him and that he will get more support. First, he has to change himself from the inside in order to bring the change from the outside.

So by having a pleasing personality, you will surely get tremendous support from people during the needful situation and at times when you are in a depressed mood, then these are the people who will lift your mood.

Gratitude:

Yes. Showing gratitude for what we are having on a daily basis is the best way to get rid of depression. Sometimes we feel low by thinking about uncertain situations and we tend to forget what god has given us. There are many people in this world who are so unfortunate that they do not have one-time food to eat at all and if we do not fall into that category then we should be very thankful for that.

So whenever you feel depressed, start thinking about what god has given to you. It could be anything like the house you live in, the food you get to eat when you are hungry, education, or good health and we can count on many things that we can show gratitude on daily basis. By doing such things, you will feel happiness in your mind.

I use to apply this trick on a regular basis and it gave me better results. You can try it now and feel happiness within.
