How I Made Money on TikTok Without Showing My Face (And You Can Too!)
Simple, beginner-friendly strategies to start earning on TikTok—no dancing, no selfies, no face required.

Let’s be real—TikTok can feel a bit intimidating at first. When I first opened the app, I was bombarded with choreographed dances, lip-syncing teens, and influencers with ring lights brighter than my future. 😅 I remember thinking, “Do I really have to show my face and dance just to make a buck here?”
Turns out, the answer is nope. You absolutely can make money on TikTok without ever showing your face—and I'm living proof of that.
I’m not a tech wizard, nor am I an influencer. I’m just a regular person who was tired of the 9-to-5 grind and wanted to try something new. If you're like me—maybe a bit shy, privacy-conscious, or just more into being behind the camera—then this guide is totally for you.
Build a Niche Page (No Face Required!)
The trick is to create content around a specific topic or niche. For me, it was peaceful beach scenes. I’d walk down to the shore near my house, film the waves, and pair it with relaxing music. I wasn’t in the video at all—just nature doing its thing.
Other faceless niches that do well:
- Pet videos (even borrowed clips—just give credit)
- Life hacks and tutorials
- Aesthetic desk setups
- Book reviews
- Cleaning transformations (SO satisfying)
Before I knew it, I had over 10,000 followers, and people were asking me to promote their products.
Try Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is like recommending your favorite product to a friend—only you get paid for it. I signed up for a few affiliate programs (Amazon Associates is a good one) and started recommending items that made sense for my niche.
For example, I made a video showing my “cozy beach day setup” and linked everything in my bio—blanket, speaker, even the sunglasses.
Pro Tip: Use something like Linktree or Beacons to keep your affiliate links organized in your bio. It looks cleaner and makes clicking easier.
Sell Digital Products
Here’s where it gets really interesting. If you can create something once and sell it over and over, you’re on the path to passive income.
I made a simple “30-Day TikTok Content Calendar” in Canva, uploaded it to Gumroad, and mentioned it in a couple of my videos. I only spent a weekend making it—and it ended up making more money in one month than I did from freelancing all year.
Ideas to sell:
- Notion templates
- Printable planners
- eBooks
- Lightroom presets
- Digital art or sound effects
Use Voice-overs or Text-Based Videos
Want to keep it 100% faceless? Easy. You can use your voice or even trending TikTok sounds with text overlays.
Some examples I love:
- Daily motivation quotes with nature clips
- Finance tips using screen recordings
- “POV” videos telling stories using stock footage or AI voices
Apps like CapCut make it simple to edit these—even if you’re not a pro.
Repurpose What You Already Have
Got a blog? Twitter thread? Old videos? Repurpose them!
Use tools like:
- Pictory or Lumen5 to convert text into short videos
- ChatGPT to write scripts
- InShot or CapCut for quick edits
One video idea can turn into a TikTok, a Reel, a Pinterest Pin, and even a blog post.
Creator Fund + Freelance Services
Once you hit TikTok’s Creator Fund threshold (10k followers, 100k views in 30 days), apply and get paid for your views.
But honestly, a better route might be using your TikTok to promote services—like writing, designing, or consulting. One of my faceless videos landed me a long-term client who found my content “refreshing and mysterious.” Not mad about that!

You Don't Need to Be a Star to Shine
The biggest lesson I learned? You don’t need to be loud, showy, or famous. You just need to start.
Start creating. Start learning. Start sharing.
If I—a camera-shy, behind-the-scenes content nerd—can make money on TikTok without ever showing my face, you definitely can too.
