With 2026 starting, many people are making resolutions. I’m not a huge fan of the word resolutions because I feel like that sets you up for failure. Every year that I’ve written resolutions, I haven’t worked on them past January. When I am ready to do my monthly goals, I use those yearly ones to develop the new ones. At the end of each month, I evaluate how I’ve done and make my goals for the next month. So instead of resolutions this year, I wrote up my goals for the year and then for January.
I started doing goals about midway through the year in 2025 (in August) because a friend posted goals and I liked the idea, but keeping up with the goals kind of went by the wayside with everything else that was happening in November and December (end of the year always ends up more stressful than it should between work and holidays). I really find that I need the goals to keep myself on track, but sometimes I don’t remember to look at them and make sure that I’m completing them. I am hoping that by posting them here on Vocal, it will help keep me more focused on completing things.
In addition to working on goals, I’ve sketched out my posting schedule here on Vocal and Social Media for the beginning of the year, although I still have some decisions to make for my Nerdy Geek Librarian postings. When I get into my program (I’m being positive), I might have to re-evaluate some of the writing goals, but I’m hoping that I can keep up with posting.
I didn’t add my goals for each month into the posting schedule, but here’s the beginning of the year’s posting schedule. I’m hoping I’ll be able to keep to it, although sometimes I don’t remember on Mondays.
I’m looking forward to accomplishing these items this year and posting each month with an update.

I have a lot that I need to get done for work and at home, especially since I lost half of my vacation to being ill. This meant I didn’t do the cleaning that I intended to do, so I’m hoping to get at least some of it done this month.

Pretty inspiring. I am tempted to do some goals for myself 😁
Great! I'm motivated to borrow a thing or two from this. Thank you for sharing
