You’ve probably heard of the term “cash cow YouTube channel,” which is a type of YouTube channel that is created with the main purpose of making money.

These days, such channels are very popular among YouTube creators.

And when you combine such an approach with automation, you can build an interesting side hustle.

Yes, there is a thing called YouTube automation and it can make you pretty good money.

Before you start, however, let me explain the most important step you should take.

Finding a profitable niche.

Like it or not, when you enter a niche with low CPM and high competition, you will lose money with YouTube automation.

That is why I want to share with you why I think selecting the right niche is crucial, and I’m going to tell you why.

But first, let’s define what a niche is.

A niche is a specific topic or theme that your YouTube channel will focus on.

For example, a niche could be cooking, gaming, beauty, travel, or even pet care.

But why does it matter to find the right niche?

You’ll Have Less Competition

Besides finding a high CPM category, you should also go for less competitive topics.

In other words, choosing a niche that is less crowded will help you stand out from the crowd.

If you choose a niche that is already saturated with creators, it will be much harder for you to get noticed.

There is a term called “niche down”.

This means that you are choosing a general niche, such as food, and then narrowing it down to a more focused group, such as vegans, but even further by focusing on vegans with young kids.

By focusing on a less popular niche, you’ll have less competition, which means you’ll have a better chance of getting discovered.

You’ll Attract the Right Audience

Low competition is good, but when you niche down, you are also finding a highly targeted audience that is willing to watch your videos every time you publish them.

This means that your viewers will be more engaged, more likely to subscribe, and more likely to share your content with others who are interested in the same topic.

You’ll Be Able to Better Monetize Your Channel

As a creator managing multiple YouTube channels, I can say that the ads displayed on my videos are not what brings me most of the money.

In fact, I’m using affiliate marketing to boost my revenue and, with the right engaging audience, it is quite easy.

And don’t forget that certain niches are more profitable and easier to monetize than others.

For example, if you have a channel about tech or finance, you will get more lucrative sponsorship deals than if you have a channel about sewing.

As a content creator who runs multiple YouTube channels, I am always on the lookout for tools that can help me automate…

Conclusion

Finding the right niche for your cash cow channel is hugely important. You don’t want to waste your time and money on low-profit categories and making videos for people who don’t buy anything from you.

Therefore, take the time to consider what would be a suitable niche for you and start creating!

Who knows, you might just become the next YouTube star!
