My guide and routine to living your best life and finding fulfillment

Ever since I was 13 years old I have had to deal with living with Type 1 diabetes. Life has been a crazy roller coaster ride since then. It’s now 10 years later and the challenges I face every day are still as new and fresh as the day I was admitted to that hospital. There are so many negative aspects about having a chronic illness but instead of dwelling on those things I try to find as many ways as possible to feel positive, healthy and above all happy.

Let’s take you on a little journey through a day in my life:

Everyday when I wake up the first thing I do is journaling. Journaling is a great way to Set your goals and get you motivated to start your day ! Pick out your favorite journal (mine has a flamingo on it) and your best pen and write down 3 things that you’re grateful for and all the goals you want to achieve. I also suggest making a vision board with all the things you dream of for your future. It’s a great arts and crafts project and will help you to make choices that lead you closer to those dreams everyday.

After my journaling and taking a glance at my vision board I start my skincare routine. The first thing I do is wash my face with the Coco Clear Cleanser from Hellobody. Then I spray Coconut Rose Water all over my face and neck. I use the one from Pearlessence. The last thing I do is moisturize my face with the Biossance omega 3 moisturizer which is my favorite! It leaves my skin soft supple and glowing. I love these products because they all promote clean, sustainable beauty. Next thing I do is choose an outfit that’s going to make me feel cute and comfy (preferably pink for me).

The next thing I do is head to the kitchen for breakfast. I always start off my day with a big cup of coffee. One of the things that bring me joy on a daily basis are my mugs! I have a collection of super cute mugs that vary by my mood everyday. I pick one out(today I chose one with watermelons on it), fill it up halfway with coffee, add brown sugar or monk fruit sweetener, and top it off with oat milk which is a great healthy substitute for milk and makes it extra creamy.

Throughout the day I tend to go for meals that are absolutely delicious and make me feel good on the inside as well. Some of my favorites are Chicken Caesar Wraps with Shredded Carrots, Taco Salads with the Works, and Oven Baked Salmon with Lemon Pepper Breadcrumbs. Just writing this is making my mouth water! I also tend to drink a lot of water and tea during the day. My favorite brand is the Bigelow Benefits tea bags.

Everyday I tend to do some type of physical excersize. I like to switch up my routine so it doesn’t get too tedious. I like going for walks with my family on different trails and trying different workout videos on YouTube. I want to try the Chloe Ting 2 week shred next.

After I do all these things I take time out of my day for doing what I love most which is filming, editing and uploading videos for my YouTube Channel (JENEVERLY) and shooting and blogging for my Instagram (@alwaysjeneverly). This is my passion and it’s what motivates and brings me happiness and positivity. I HIGHLY suggest finding a skill, hobby or activity that brings you pure joy and also finding people that share that same interest. You don’t know how beneficial this will be to your mental/physical health and to your life in general.

At the end of the day my favorite thing to do is to pick out a movie, whip up a few snacks, grab a warm blanket, put on a pair of fuzzy socks and have a great bonding time with my family. Spending time with the people you love whether it’s friends, family, a significant other or even your pet, is so important because it establishes trust, support and just makes your bonds so much stronger.

Lastly before I head to bed, I write down in my journal 3 more things I’m grateful for and I thank God for the amazing day I’ve been blessed with. The important part of this whole thing is to keep a positive attitude and outlook on everything and just know that everyone has their down days but the good ones will outweigh the bad. So focus on taking yourself, that means your body, mind and spirit. Don’t stress over the little things. Find and commit to a passion. And live everyday like it’s a blessing, only then will you find your light and radiate. ♥️✨
