It's All About Timing

I initially didn’t know where to even begin when I started writing this. I’ve always dreamed big, and in a perfect world I’d be a little scared of how positively limitless the possibilities would be. I’ve always wanted to achieve something great in my life. Not just for me, but for everyone on this planet. It feels like an immature dream, unattainable almost, considering the grand scale of our planet. But hey, we’re talking about a perfect world here, are we not? In a perfect world, my dreams would come true. It will of course require tons of hard work and proper time management to start off. Timing is arguably the most important variable in every situation, especially one like this.

I’ve always wanted to inspire others. Being the reason why someone’s day is positively impacted is something that would be life fulfilling to me. Everyone has a purpose in this world. You and I are here for a reason, even if we have trouble believing that at times. We all have something we are passionate about which keeps our busy, sometimes challenging life, interesting. Thing is, although it’s simple, it’s not easy. Some of us struggle to even identify what our passion is or where we belong; what our purpose is. How do we define our purpose? Are we sure we even have one? Aren’t we all slowly turning into dust anyway at the end of the day? What’s the point of trying so hard? In the end, the result will be the same and the world will keep going on just fine without us right?

Well, in a sense, you’ve got a point. However, I’d say the answer to the last question is a definite, no. See everyone has something that fills their soul. Whether it’s music, writing, helping others, working on a project, a hobby, etc. Many of us have yet to discover what we enjoy to the fullest, and although some of us may know, we still may have not tapped into our full potential with it. For instance, I wouldn’t have ever known how strong my passion is for playing the guitar if it weren’t for my mother putting me in my first guitar class. Ironically, at the time as an immature 8th grader, I swore that I would absolutely hate it! Instead, it became a life changing event for me in the best of ways. Or that time I tired snowboarding for the first time once and loved it. I’m now eagerly awaiting to do it again. See, in life, you have to try. This isn’t about society, me, or anyone else. It’s about your limited time here. Your life. A life you should want to be an enjoyable one, while you have it. Sadly, we don’t always value the things in life until they’re gone and we eventually realize how much we took that certain thing for granted. Living an enjoyable life is not easy and living a miserable life is not easy. It’s up to each of us to choose our hard. There’s no choice but to try and care. That’s the kind of healthy mindset you need to be in. You owe it to yourself.

How can you be so sure? Well, I know this may not resonate with everyone, but I speak out to those who need a little bit of motivation and a reason to care about not only their life, but their existence too. See not too long ago, I had a change of heart and a change of mind; more specifically a change of mindset. It’s absolutely incredible what a change of mindset can do. Depending on the type of mindset, it can be amazingly great or stunningly awful. For most of the past years of my life, I’m not afraid to admit I’ve had a bad unhealthy mindset. This doesn’t make you a bad person or a failure. It just means your perspective is very limited at the moment; limited to only the negativity around you, and not focused on the positive. With a mindset like this you might even purposefully ignore your troubles, distract yourself from them, or just choose to make them worse for yourself since you feel like you’re stuck in a sick cycle.

So tell me, am I trapped? My best advice to you, dear reader, is that you will forever be trapped as long as you let yourself be. Only you can be in control of yourself and set yourself free. Your mindset has the power to literally transform the world around you. The mind is an extremely powerful ally or capable enemy. Although you are ultimately in control, this does not mean it is easy to control your mind or change your mindset at will, as bizarre as that may sound. I honestly didn’t plan to write this. I feel like someone somewhere out there could use this bit of motivation. I know I could’ve for many years…

First thing’s first, it’s not magic. As of the moment I’m typing this out, I am unaware of any magic that exists, so I will let you know this has nothing to do with spontaneous magic, or any other kind of magic for that matter. Although sometimes it may absolutely feel like it. I went from adopting a self-destructive, careless, and completely negative mindset to a positive, focused, and motivated one. In plain terms, I went from feeling like my existence was insignificant to feeling like it was the most important thing in, well, my life. All those years I knew something had to change. I had been motivated before and had achieved goals in life I was proud of. I was happier with who I was in the past, than who I was in the present moment. I was settling for nothingness and waiting for my motivation to catch back up to me again in the meantime. The problem is, it felt like it was taking a tremendously long time to get back to me. At one point, I feared my motivation was actually gone forever. I was terrified of feeling like my purpose was gone forever.

I found myself in the hospital one evening with an extremely elevated blood pressure. I had not been taking care of myself for a while and was eating whatever junk food I wanted, and barely getting exercise. The quarantine situation did not help and I got to a point of being very unhealthy. I felt sick, not only physically, but I was fed up of the direction my life was going. I always knew I wanted a good life, so I didn’t understand how I let myself settle for the floor. It was excruciatingly painful to punish myself that way. Truth is, sometimes it really does take a punch in the face or something serious to smack you back into reality and make you think rationally. Reality is exactly just that, reality, and there’s no escaping it.

It won’t exactly be comfortable. In order for me to start on my journey I had to make many necessary changes to my daily life routine. When it came to saving my health or choosing to stay on the path toward shortening my lifespan, I chose to stand up and fight. It no longer mattered how hard I thought it would be to exercise daily or how painful it would be to start eating a strict diet with zero sodium. As a said before, choose your hard. Although I had buried my motivation, I knew my purpose was forever lurking deep down within me. It wasn’t just my health I started working on, I started working hard toward all the different areas of my life that required improvement. This included connecting with my spiritual health, working on getting rid of all my bad habits and slowly replacing them with good ones, and improving the relationships I share with those around me, including my wife. I started working on developing my lifelong passions like creating music, writing, and even playing video games when I had spare time. At times I found myself brainstorming and dreaming of the possibility of a better world for all of us to live in with a more just and peaceful future. I started making sure I never let myself get unnecessarily stressed out. A bunch of stuff! I knew none of this would be easy, and I knew it would be a constant daily hustle.

It’s been six months since the start of some of my goals with this healthy mindset of not quitting or giving up. I somehow recovered a lost part of me I had lost many years ago. Since then, I had always found myself failing eventually in most of my endeavors. This time I’m wiser, more patient, and stronger than ever before. I am absolutely determined, and once your mind is made up, there’s no way to change it! There are no shortcuts to success in life. There’s no way to speed up true success like waking up and feeling happy with yourself, your life, your body, and your soul. While it can be extremely demanding, it’s definitely worth it. You are worth taking care of yourself. It’s no one else’s responsibility to do so. Only you know your limits. Choose to be a better you, for you. Take care of yourself before you take care of others, so they are taken care of by the best version of you.

One of the most crucial bits of information I can share with you is to get to know yourself better. Try to learn how to have control over your emotions, and how to control your reactions toward external and internal stimuli. It’s much easier said than done, trust me, I know. But if you don’t try, it will never happen. Little by little, you can become more aware and realize which certain emotions and reactions you have control over and which you don’t. I found that as you work on yourself and improve different areas of your life, the more you will learn about who you really are. Another life changing tip is learning how to limit your stress. Doing this will increase your lifespan. Stress kills, and it was the reason why I ended up in the hospital with a sky rocketing blood pressure, was put on medication, and told I really needed to do something about it. Within one month I was off the medication and since then have managed to have my blood pressure under control naturally. I’ve also lost forty-five pounds in the last six months. So why am I blabbing around so much anyway? Like I said, I feel compelled to touch on this topic and maybe help a reader out there or two hopefully. If not that many, then at least you. I have a strong passion for helping others, and I find that communication between two human beings is often a great way to do it. Through communication we write, listen to beautiful music, read or watch material that may help us learn or be entertained. Communication is at the core of our human social components. I want to help others in more ways than just communicating, but hey, one step at a time right?

As I stated before, my passions include, playing and creating music, writing creative content, playing video games, strategizing ways I could implement a system or non-profit organization that could aid my community and society as a whole, and most importantly to me: helping others. I know I am meant to help others. It’s the reason why I went to college for my degree and trained and worked so hard to become a first responder. I was there for people in times they needed me the most. Ultimately, I did not have the correct healthy mindset to manage my health and deal with all the stress at the time. I ended up having to take a break. I felt a deep need to truly discover myself. Reconnecting with myself has been the most positive life changing experience I have ever had in my entire life. I have decided what I want to do with my life. I plan to work hard and develop my passions in order to create content to share for others to enjoy. My dream would be to be able to connect with others and not only provide entertainment, but also helpful material for their lives. I truly want to make the world a better place. I believe it starts with each and every individual. When we look at our biggest problems in society nowadays, there is always a root from which it stems from. It always boils down to human beings and their actions. Everyone has a reason to why they act a certain way is the tricky part. Addressing everyone’s problem in a serious manner is the ONLY way we have a chance at ever achieving WORLD PEACE. If people are satisfied with their situations in life, or at least are being helped with their needs, whether mentally, financially, physically, or spiritually, they should not have a reason to commit evil acts. Notice how I said “should.” This is because in the real world, I think most of us eventually come to believe world peace would be an impossible feat. But this isn’t the real world, this is my dream. In my dream it is possible.

Of course, I’m aware that in today’s world everything revolves around money, so I will definitely have to monetize my passion if I ever plan to live off it. I know Memberful would be an invaluable tool in helping me work toward my dream. I would love to create content daily and release content on a scheduled basis including daily, weekly, and monthly. I would be happy to include free content in order to reach and help as many people as I possibly can I would like to have a subscription service where I can include different paid tiers for different kind of content, and perhaps set up a donation link as well. My daily content would be in the form of some sort of inspirational content and a short story. Weekly content would include a podcast where we can discuss crucial subjects people need advice on in today’s world. Monthly content would include a custom-made guide geared toward a specific topic chosen by the community involving self-improvement and life management. I have a plethora of different ideas in my mind, so these are just some basics. I think it would be neat if I wrote a story which develops according to plot choices community gets to vote on. During this, in the background I plan to keep working on my dream of producing music and keep improving my skill so I could eventually release music content to my subscribers as well. If they’d like to connect and watch me stream any video games, I think that would be a very cool experience to have also. The world is incomprehensibly immense and it’s hard to be there for everyone who may need you. My dream would be to at least be able to be there for someone in a positive way that helps them in a moment they could really use someone, but are alone. I dream of being able to inspire others, work toward a future with world peace, and help others. If I put just one smile in someone’s face a day for the rest of my life, my life would be made.

As I said earlier, I’ve been waiting for this motivation to sneak back up on me. I know this time I am the most dedicated and disciplined I’ve ever been. I know because I’m doing this for me this time. It’s what I choose to do with my life. I used to do things for others and put myself in the backseat. Now I’m in control in the driver’s seat and choose to keep my health a priority so I can hopefully be there for you when you need me. Money is a resource that will always help if used properly, and I know there’s an enormous cost associated with helping others and being there for them. Either way, I want to try. For me, for you, and frankly, for our wonderful world. Change is inevitable, it must happen. The question is, will you choose to change for the better? The choice is yours and no one will ever take that away from you. As for me, I choose to have faith in humanity. I choose to have faith in you. I choose to have faith in myself and I choose to fight for my dream. Not all dreams come true, but I will fight for mine to have the best chance to become a reality!
