Eternal Flow

Embracing Life's Fleeting Moments

By Thomas FitzpatrickPublished 3 years ago 3 min read
Time is a constant reminder that every moment is precious. Embrace each new day with gratitude and make the most of every fleeting opportunity.

Tick-tock, time flows on, Moment's fleeting, never gone, Embrace each new dawn.

There once was a man named Jack, who lived a simple life in a simple town. He spent his days working in his father's wood cutting company, and his evenings relaxing at home with his family. Jack never really thought about time, he simply went about his days with a sense of contentment and routine.

But as Jack grew older, He began to notice that time seemed to be moving faster than ever before. The days and weeks flew by in a blur, and he often found himself wondering where the time had gone. Jack became acutely aware of the passage of time, and he felt a growing sense of urgency to make the most out of every moment.

One day, Jack decided to take a walk through the nearby woods. As he strolled along the winding path, he couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the natural world around him. The leaves rustled in the gentle breeze, the birds chirped merrily in the treetops, and the sun cast a warm glow over everything.

As jack walked deeper into the woods, he suddenly stumbled upon a clearing. In the center of the clearing stood a tall, ancient tree that towered over everything around it. Jack approached the tree, and as he laid his hand on its rough bark, he felt a strange sensation wash over him.

In that moment, Jack was transported back in time to his childhood. He saw himself running through the fields, playing with his friends, and laughing without a care in the world. He felt a surge joy and nostalgia wash over him as he relived those precious memories.

But as the memories began to fade, Jack found himself back in the present, standing before the ancient tree once again. He looked around and he realized that he had been standing there for hours. He had lost all track of time, lost in the beauty and wonder of the natural world.

From that day on, Jack made a conscious effort to appreciate the moments in his life. He realized that time was fleeting, and that every moment was precious. He started to spend more time with his family, taking them on adventures and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

As the years went by, Jack grew old and gray. He knew that his time on this earth was coming to an end, but he felt at peace with the knowledge that he had lived a life full of love and adventure. He had lived each day to the fullest, embracing the beauty and wonder of the world around him.

And as Jack closed his eyes for the final time, he felt a sense of contentment wash over him. He knew that his time on this earth had been well-spent, and he was grateful for every moment he had been given. For Jack, time had flowed on, but he had made the most out of every fleeting moment.

- It took me all day to create this haiku and story, I regret not finding your Instagram page sooner. But it's a prime example of how time flows on, regardless of who we are or what we do. And I'm glad I found it in time to be able to attempt this challenge. I'm sure there are thousands of small writers who don't know about this opportunity, and regardless they will miss out because time moves on. This may not be my best work, but i'm always striving to improve and appreciate any feedback from fellow Vocal users. Thank you, Vocal, for the opportunity to share my ideas and grow as a writer. This is my story, "Eternal Flow", and I'm grateful for your time and attention.
