I have heard a saying: "It is stupid to change others; it is God to change yourself!"
Stupid people always look for reasons, faults, and problems from others in advance;
Smart people reflect on their own shortcomings in advance, seek the root cause, and seek breakthroughs.
More often, we do not lose to others, but to ourselves.
In life, the biggest opponent is yourself, how ruthless you are to yourself, the more stable your life will be!
The only way to success is to constantly introspect and challenge yourself to overcome yourself.
Conquer your laziness
Zeng Guofan once said: "The mediocre people in the world, ancient and modern, all use the word laziness to defeat."
Laziness is not the ease and leisure you think, but depression and burnout.
Like dust, it can rust hard steel and can easily destroy a person.
Self-discipline, hard work and diligence are what really make a person successful.
Zeng Guofan, an important minister in the late Qing Dynasty, emphasized "diligence" all his life, and his success and success were inseparable from diligence.
When he was studying, he was willing to make clumsy efforts and make up for his clumsiness with diligence, and he just passed the top-level jinshi examination with low-level qualifications.
After becoming an official, in just half a year, he carefully processed more than 40,000 volumes of documents, and his office efficiency was unparalleled.
In the army, no matter it is windy or rainy, day after day, getting up early and going to bed late, and training and supervising training, never slackens the slightest.
Zeng Guofan overcame laziness, managed laziness with diligence, and ruled mediocrity with diligence, and used his brilliant life to prove that God rewards diligence.
As the saying goes: "If you are diligent, there will be no difficulty in the world, but if you are lazy, everything will stop."
If you want to achieve great things, you must overcome your own laziness and let "diligence" become the master of life.
The more desolate the lazy life, the more fortunate the diligent life will be.
Conquer your arrogance
Wang Yangming, the master of Xinxue, said: "Being arrogant is the enemy of people. Thousands of sins and hundreds of evils all come from pride."
The breeding of arrogance is the first step in self-destructing the Great Wall.
Because once a person starts to be arrogant and his heart is full of superiority, he is not far from bad luck.
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, after Cao Cao took Jingzhou, Zhang Song from Xichuan came to contact his feelings.
But Zhang Song's face was ugly, Cao Cao saw this, he was arrogant and contemptuous, and his attitude was very cold.
It just so happened that Zhang Song was also a person with strong self-esteem. Seeing that Cao Cao looked down on others, he left Cao's camp in a fit of anger.
Turning his head, he gave Liu Bei the map of Chuanzhong in his hand. In this way, Liu Bei picked up a great deal and successfully captured Yizhou.
Because of his arrogance, Cao Cao lost his chance to rule the world, but instead contributed to the situation of the Three Kingdoms, it is too late to regret it!
The ancients often said: "Only the humble receive blessings."
Arrogance is the beginning of trouble, don't be complacent just because of a little achievement.
There are people outside people, and there are heavens outside the sky. If you want to improve yourself, you must put away your arrogance, be humble, and maintain awe.
Only by conquering your own arrogance, not overestimating yourself, and not underestimating others, can you stand at the highest point in life.
Conquer your greed
There is a saying in Zhuangzi: "Those whose desires are deep, their secrets are shallow."
If a person has too much greed, he will lack wisdom and spirituality, and lose the opportunities and blessings in life.
Desire is a bottomless pit, the more greedy it is, the easier it is to lose it.
There is this story:
The disciple asked the master, "What is the most terrifying thing in this world?"
The master thought about it and said, "It's greed."
The disciple was puzzled, but the master smiled and said, "Listen to me tell you a story."
A farmer wanted to buy land, and the land seller said: "As long as one thousand yuan, I will give you the time from sunrise to sunset, and the places you go are yours, provided you can return to the starting point."
The peasants thought to themselves that it was a good deal, and paid the money right away.
At sunrise, he strode forward with all his might, still secretly rejoicing in his heart: "After a hard day, you can be happy for a lifetime."
It wasn't until he saw that the sun was about to go down that he began to worry.
So, he hurriedly took a shortcut and rushed towards the starting point, but when he was two steps away, his strength was exhausted and he fell to the ground.
His hands just touched the starting point, the land belongs to him, but what's the use?
He has lost his most precious life.
The most terrible thing in the world is greed, it can make you lose your mind, forget your original intention, and even lead to disaster and lose your life.
The Tao Te Ching says: "To be content with oneself is not humiliated, and to know what to stop is not dangerous."
If everything is too much, there will be disasters. This is a simple philosophy of life, and it is also the law of the world.
Indulge one's own greed and be dazzled by profit, and in the end, it will only be self-rewarding.
Only by conquering one's own greed, pure heart and few desires, and contentment and always happy, can one have real wealth in life.
conquer your weakness
"The Road Less Traveled" says: "Life is full of hardships."
If you take suffering too seriously, take yourself too lightly, and be too weak, you will be easily overthrown.
Therefore, you may not be excellent, but you must not be weak.
Only by conquering your own weakness and practicing inner strength can you laugh at the chaos of the world.
The famous poet Bei Dao, whose poems have influenced a generation, but looking back at the first half of his life, it was full of disasters.
The literary magazine he co-founded was shut down for criticizing reality.
I have been wandering abroad for decades, living in 7 countries, and changing countless jobs to support myself.
However, he has never given up writing, but has faced difficulties and has published many works, which are well-known at home and abroad, and have been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature for many times.
Later, he wrote in a poem: "I can touch hell when I squat down, but I can't see heaven when I look up."
But he survived, shattered the shackles of life, and built the inner steel city wall.
People will have lows and unsatisfactory times, and the key to getting out of the predicament is hidden in you.
Sanmao said it well: "Besides crossing himself, no one else can help."
Who's life has not experienced wind and rain, and has not been tempered.
Everything is bitter, only those who survive by themselves are the real strong ones and the winners in life.
When your heart becomes stronger and no longer weak, you can be reborn in nirvana, get the blessing of fate, and turn darkness into splendor!
The Tao Te Ching says: "He who overcomes others is powerful, and he who overcomes himself is stronger."
Winning others is wonderful; conquering oneself is life.
Overcome your laziness and stay diligent in order to achieve success;
Overcome your own arrogance, humble yourself, and naturally walk steadily and far;
To overcome one's own greed and desire, to be content with one's sufficiency, and then to achieve happiness and perfection;
Overcome your weaknesses, strengthen your heart, and eventually heal everything.
For the rest of my life, I hope that you and I can both step out of the comfort zone, recognize yourself, overcome yourself, and be reborn to a new height in life!
