Have you, that one goal in life, which you would desperately love to achieve? Now I'm not talking about just your run of the mill goals, such as losing 10 kilograms of weight this year, or saving up $5,000 to go on a holiday next year, I'm talking about a life transforming goal. I'm talking about a goal that will turn your current mediocre and unsatisfying life, into one that is enriched with happiness, success, and prosperity. There's certainly nothing wrong with having other goals, such as the two examples I mentioned of above, but we should always have that one goal that will help us discover our purpose, help us to create success in our life, help us to achieve greatness, help us to be fulfilled and satisfied with our life, and help us to find happiness and prosperity. We should even be ensuring our goal is tied to delivering benefit, joy, and help, to the lives of others also. Such goals are extremely challenging, and take a massive amount of patience, resilience, perseverance, and hard work, to achieve, yet in completing the journey, they bring us such an immense level of satisfaction and happiness, because we can reflect on all the failures, all the rejections, all the setbacks, and all the hardships, that we have managed to overcome in the process.
The first step to success is to conceive the goal you wish to achieve. It should never be about money, as the yearn for money is based on greed, rather than appreciation. Chasing money will leave you forever chasing, not succeeding. Although the success you desire may result in wealth and prosperity, it should be seen as just an added bonus, not the main aim. If you are pondering using your wealth to buy all the luxuries and expensive items that money can buy, then you will find again, that you will be forever chasing that goal, but if you are pondering using that money to help others, invest in further opportunities, and continue to make that money work for you, then life often has a habit of rewarding you. Life knows the heart, you can't deceive it. So, get clear on the goal you want to achieve. What line of work are you passionate about, that would inspire and motivate you to work hard, to serve, help, and bring benefit to others? What does achieving that goal look like to you in your mind? Visualize that moment of success in your head, that moment in which you achieve the goal. Where are you in that moment? Who is with you? What are the surroundings? How do you feel in that moment? That goal and the vision need to drive you, and they need to emotionally spur you on so intensely, that giving up on achieving your goal never becomes an option. It needs to be something you are prepared to work damn hard for, and you will be as patient as need be for. Visualize that moment of success in your mind every single day, but also write down the goal you wish to achieve, so you have complete clarity and understanding of what you want to achieve. Conceive your goal.
The second step to success is to believe. There is no point embarking on what becomes an extremely difficult, challenging, and character testing journey, if you don't believe the goal is even possible to achieve, or if you don't believe in yourself that you have the ability and skill to achieve it. Doubt is one of the biggest success killers known to humankind. Doubt is nothing more than tricking our mind into believing that something is not achievable or practical, when in essence, that is far from the truth. That doubt may be because others influence us to believe that it's not possible or practical, or our friends, family, and loved ones don't believe in our capabilities, or whether we are fearful that we don't have the right qualifications, as it were, the right knowledge, skill, and ability, to complete the actions needed to reach that success. We can't achieve success if we don't engage in the actions to get us there, and we can't engage in the actions if we don't have the belief we can complete them. The problem why most people never get to experience success and fulfillment in life, is because they never grant themselves the opportunity to demonstrate their full potential. Our full potential is only ever seen when we have the courage to overcome our fear of failure, fear of financial loss, fear of judgement of others, fear of inadequacy, and any other fears that prevent us from stepping out of our comfort zone, taking risks, facing up to adversity, failures, and challenges, and devising a solution to overcome them. When we are placed in situations where we are forced to find a solution to an issue that is preventing us from success, or potentially impacting on our way of life, it's amazing what actions we end up taking. We do things we wouldn't normally do, because we have to. We are dragged out of our comfort zone, and yet we find that solution. In doing so, over and over again, we learn, we grow, we develop, and we become wiser. We need to understand that failure, challenge, hardship, and adversity, are all part and parcel of the journey to success, and they are indications that we are actually making progress, not indications we are losing the battle. We need to maintain that belief in ourselves, and believe that our goal really is achievable.
The third step is the achievement itself. Once we conceive the goal that we wish to accomplish, and we believe in ourselves and that we can achieve our goal, then comes all the hard work, the commitment, the dedication, the perseverance, the patience, the resilience, and the determination. Life transforming goals take years to reach, so it's a long haul, but once we conceive and believe, then we can indeed achieve. All those years of hard work, pain, and sacrifice, all become worth it. That feeling of having applied ourselves so greatly, transforms into achievement and success. Again, have you, that one goal in life, which you would desperately love to achieve? Get clear on it, believe in yourself, and commit yourself to the actions that will turn it from a vision into reality. You definitely have the ability and potential, now's your chance to prove it!
