Channeling unwanted energy

Staying Mindful

By Lindsey Published 4 years ago 5 min read

Staying mindful of your thoughts and keeping them aligned with what feels good takes practice. Finding ways to keep your thoughts positive and stay focused is a great place to start. When you see a sign that says I love my Life, for instance, you automatically internalize it as you read it. Throughout your day, without noticing you are constantly picking up subliminal messages. Whatever messages your subconscious mind picks up can change your mood and create unwanted emotions.

Have you ever been going about your day let’s say shopping and all of the sudden you feel irritated and short-tempered? Or the other way around you all of the sudden feel excited or energized, or possibly hungry. When this happens while you are mindful or aware of it, take a moment to look around and see if there is are visible signs or something that triggered this emotion. You may notice you passed a sign that reminded you of your ex or a sign that had food on it. More than likely your conscious mind didn’t even register the sign at all but your subconscious mind is always paying attention even when you are sleeping.

If there aren’t any signs you notice, look around and see if anyone around you seems like are feeling whatever emotion you are feeling.

Empaths are very sensitive to others’ emotions and vibrations. Whenever I would work with two of my very close friends I could feel when they were not feeling ok. My girlfriend has diabetes and I could feel her sugar drop from across the store. It never failed every time she was in desperate need of sugar.

There are many triggers for what brings on unwanted emotions and it can be frustrating when you can’t pinpoint the source. I am a generally positive person and it is frustrating when my mood shifts so suddenly for no apparent reason and Bipolar wasn't resonating with me and neither were the medications. I started trying to be mindful so that it was easier to release the energy that didn’t belong to me in the first place.

There are things that you can do to help bring your mind back to focus or help bring you back to the center. It will take some time to find what calms your energy but I will share what I have found helpful to give you an idea of what I mean.

Stones and minerals have very high energy that can almost block or ease unwanted energy in the form of emotions. I found that keeping a rock in my pocket such as a worry rock can refocus your attention as you hold it in your hand. . There are other stones, that can help deflect unwanted energy. The best advice I can give is to go into a metaphysical store and speak with one of their specialists or pick up a book on minerals and rocks and their healing properties so you can try out ones specific to your needs.

Through the years of trying out ways to stay positive and mindful, I found that adding Fung Shui to your home helps keep it peaceful. When your environment is set to your frequency then it is easier to stay on the right channel.

Fung Shui technics can include the way your bed faces in your room. The colors of your walls. I found that after we painted our walls agreeably grey, it made our home feel more homie and calm. When you look at each color by itself, how does it feel? What feelings or emotions does it bring out in you? Find the colors that make you feel good.

Certain tones can help you stay in a calm mind space. Seek out sounds that resonate with your whole body. If it makes you feel good down to your bone marrow then you have found a good tone. The sound of Om can be calming you can do it out loud or in your thoughts.

Words are another thing that can cause unwanted energy, when you write out a word what are you doing? You are spelling. You are casting a spell in a sense. I read a fabulous book called The Energy of Words by Michelle Ardbeau. It explains in depth the vibrations of words and even the vibration of letters. You want to try and keep your vibration aligned with what feels right.

Scents can either calm your nerves or irritate them, I found that I love fresh lavender. If I am having a bad day and I pick some and pinch it between my fingers it creates an instant calm. Frankincense oil has the same effect.

Lighting can be the cause of irritation as well. Have you ever noticed frustration while shopping for groceries? It isn’t only because of the other frustrated rude customers or because you are spending money. The lighting strains your eyes which causes you to scrunch your face in an irritating way which triggers and tells your brain that you are irritated.

There are always going to be certain situations that cause unwanted emotions that you have no control over but you can pull yourself back to a calm place with positive triggers, such as stones, scents, colors, lights, words, images. When you focus on the object and create a clam positive feeling onto it, it will become a positive trigger every time you see it. Make sure you do not focus the unwanted energy onto it as you want it to help you return to your calm space. When you find things that make you feel good, make you feel calm all over then those can be used to help guide your emotions back to a neutral state.

Mindfulness is a tool that can help in every situation you can imagine. When you take a moment before you enter a new setting whether it be a business meeting, an uncomfortable gatherin or, a comfortable gathering, if you take a second to breathe and create the feeling you want to get from the moment then you create the moment. When you think this is going to be so boring or so long, then that is exactly what you create. It's up to you how you want to spend your moments make them amazing every time. and you'll never be let down.
