Many of us underestimate the power of the mind, especially when it comes to our own. As a result of outside negative influences, combined with what we are educated to believe by society, our friends, our teachers, and perhaps our parents, we tend to live our life completely restricted, as a result of the limiting beliefs we have formed in our minds. Each and every one of us have immense potential, skill, and ability, within us, yet so many of us go through life without revealing this talent, all because of our limiting beliefs. We don't believe that certain actions, or certain opportunities, can truly bring us success and reward, because such actions and opportunities didn't work out for others. Without even trying and knowing for ourselves, we instantly rule them out as outlets to success. We don't even know the real reasons behind why others failed at it, we just take their word on it, and adopt it as fact, especially when several others express their failure at it also. All someone needs to do is label an opportunity as a scam, and it sends people running, when in reality, it may be a genuine opportunity in which several people failed to apply themselves, and just expected the results to eventuate. Most people will never admit to failure though, in a bid to avoid feeling embarrassed and inferior, so they will pass blame on the opportunity, or perhaps other people. That opportunity may actually be a perfect fit for us, and the solution to achieving our goals, but because others have shamed it and criticized it, we adopt the belief it's a scam, ultimately limiting an avenue we had to success.
Even something as simple as motel, hotel, and restaurant reviews, that people post online, it's amazing how easily they can impact on people's minds, and ultimately their decision making. There may be several people who have posted negative reviews about somewhere, however, it doesn't necessarily make that establishment a bad place. For one, people are more likely to write a negative review than a positive one, as it's a great outlet for them to release anger and frustration, meaning the overall rating of that establishment may not be a true reflection of how people rate it. As humans, we are shockers when it comes to expectations. We simply expect certain situations and experiences to play out the way we envisage, but when they don't, that's when we are prone to complain and whinge. Hence another reason behind why people write negative reviews, because their expectations weren't met, yet it still doesn't make that establishment less credible, as everyone has different expectations after all. Best way to judge the quality, price, service, and experience, of these establishments is to try them yourself, to then know for yourself. As you can see though, how easy it is for others to influence our minds, dictate our beliefs, and impact our decisions. We are just as much to blame as others though. Why? Because we also have the bad habit of adopting beliefs of what we can and can't do.
I remember as a child, when Mum used to ask me to certain tasks, and I'd turn around and tell her they were too hard, and impossible to do. She'd simply reply with "there's no such thing as can't". My daughter is much the same as I was, and will say she can't do certain tasks, when she definitely can. It's exactly the same theory when it comes to us achieving our goals in life, or needing to complete actions that require us to step out of our comfort zone, we tell ourselves that we can't do it. It's too difficult, it requires lots of hard work, it requires lots of patience, it requires lots of commitment, and it requires lots of energy. Of course it does. The achievement of any decent goal is going to require these things, and more. The greater the goal, the greater the challenge. But it's not the fact that we personally can't achieve these goals, or any of the actions that are required to get there, it's the fact that we couldn't be bothered. We trick our mind into believing we can't, and then try and justify reasons behind why it's not possible, to make us feel better about ourselves, when in reality, we just lack will power, and we want to avoid the need to work hard. We can tell our mind to accept anything we want to, and adopt it as belief and fact. If only more of us used our mindset positively and productively instead. We are too easily sucked in and receptive to negativity, and it's negativity that destroys our ambitions for success, happiness, and prosperity, in life.
What if we started feeding our mind with more positivity and belief? It's not an easy feat to achieve, as negativity engulfs us everywhere we go, each and every day, but that's where mental strength and focus come into play. We are in complete control of our mindset, at least if we choose to be. We can repel negativity, and simply disengage from it. If others are talking gossip and negativity, excuse yourself from the conversation, or change the subject. Spend more time with those who are positive minded, inspiring, uplifting, and goals driven. It's these people who will help you to think positively, and more productively. Eliminate those toxic people from your life who are constantly negative, or often put you down. The more you can do to expose your mind to positive environments, the more beneficial your mind will be for you. There's one big priority that you need to do for your mindset though, and that is believe in yourself. You can achieve just about anything you want to, but you have to start by believing that you can. No matter how scary the journey may look, no matter the doubts that others may have about you, no matter how challenging and demanding the actions may seem, you can achieve what you set your mind to. There are people everywhere who have proven this theory. It all begins with your mindset, and then once you start embracing your belief and positivity, allow them to combine with your determination and drive, to propel you into taking action. No more allowing these limiting beliefs to prevent you from achieving your full potential, success, happiness, and prosperity, in life. Try things for yourself, so you can then know for yourself, to distinguish between what is fact and what is fiction. You have one damn powerful tool in that head of yours, why not use it to your advantage, not your detriment? Believe and achieve!
