Be Energized by Your Passion
What is your purpose in life?
I feel that everyone has a purpose in life on Earth! Whether it is showing generosity towards people by volunteering at a nursing home or homeless shelter, homemade baking goods for community, or maybe it is singing in a choir. Whatever your purpose is, use your gift and walk in your assignment! Now that you have identified your goal and skill answer this question: “What am I passionate about?” I love this question because it brings joy and happiness to my heart! When someone asks that question, you should be able to pour out everything within you that makes your heart tickle a little bit!
Whatever drives you every day and gets you out of bed each morning should be enough to walk in your passion. For me, my love is writing. My gift is writing and I am forever grateful to have this gift where I have written nine books, freelanced for over 100 publications since 2007, and using my creativity to write short stories and poetry. Writing hasn’t gotten me a lot of paid jobs, but I’m realizing more now that I love what I do, and each time I interview someone or write an article for a magazine I currently write for, it makes me happy. Sometimes it’s not all about the money when you are doing something you enjoy doing every day! Trust me; I had to learn the hard way because when I used to own my magazine called Versafi, I created interview packages for people to purchase services from me. There were times where I made $500 a month to about $87 a month. It was a hit and miss for me while owning my magazine.
Don’t get me wrong, I still want to earn income with my writing services that I now offer, but I realized with the magazine that I wasn’t fully passionate about it. I was torn between owning the magazine, finding great clients who wanted to be featured or advertised, and loving the craft of writing and interviewing people itself. I decided to focus more on my writing and interviewing people. It’s what I was called to do, and I want to make sure I’m getting the best out of what I’m genuinely passionate about. With all of the publications I wrote for and am currently writing for, I have to keep going even with the ups and downs I face reaching out to new publications to write for. Even though it isn’t paid, I’m still gaining more experience and allowing a new audience to read my work. Through the tough times, the distractions I face, and even the negative people you have to be careful with in the same industry you are in, you have to remain energized in your passion. Never allow someone to knock you off your path that you are walking on.
Whatever your passion is, don’t let the fire burn too quickly. Allow it to burn for a very long time. Here are some ways to keep your love energized:
~Work at it every week. If your passion is to cook or bake, then try new recipes from YouTube or a cookbook.
~Jot down some goals that help you stay on top of what you are passionate about. One of your goals may be to journal for thirty minutes a day or write a short story if you are a writer.
~Research new ideas. You can always learn new things whatever you are passionate about. Let’s say that you are passionate about sewing. Maybe you can learn a new pattern or learn how to sew a new dress. There are so many different ways to keep your passion alive!
So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! I hope this article has helped you all as far as keeping your gift and passion alive! Once you learn what your purpose and gift is, the rest is history! Do you believe that you have a purpose in life? The answer is yes; you have to walk in it. Many people are called to be teachers in schools, counselors to help people with their problems, journalists to interview people and become a storyteller or a chef create new dishes for people. Get energized!
