A Journey Home

Your True North is in the Center of Your Own Heart

It had been a month since Brenda had visited Sol in the visions. She visited often to deliver hugs, guidance, and words of strength. Sol thought about her all the time, in moments of despair, when she saw butterfly’s, and especially when she got the goosebumps. Today, on a day when she felt the weight of the world on her shoulders, she thought of her words.

“All pain has a purpose, Honey. Turn it in to love.” Sol had just finalized her divorce and was left empty handed and heartbroken. Her dreams seemed so far out of reach. She found herself battling her mind again, working tirelessly it seemed almost every minute of the day to bring herself back in to her heart.

Sol wrapped the black bandanna around her eyes as she sat Indian style and began to connect to her breathing. She began praying to visit with Brenda. Breathing in and out she went deeper and deeper out of her mind and in to her heart until she finally saw the screen of her mind fill with a bright white light and her body filled with chills. She knew that this meant that Brenda was here. The vision started as a blur, like a TV with bad reception trying to project. It became clearer and clearer until Sol saw herself standing in front of Brenda. In this realm, words aren’t spoken but felt through the heart and in to the mind. Sol could feel bliss, love, and sadness all at the same time, asking Brenda how she was ever going to achieve the vision she had.

Brenda reminded her that everything that is happening is happening for her.

“Life is one big lesson of letting go dear, and it isn’t until we let go of things no longer meant for us that we can make space for what is. The catalyst to finding our purpose and our destiny is in the pain.”

“How do you love through the pain?” Sol asked.

Brenda handed her a little black book and replied, “Create a new story, forgiving yourself and others for the past. Just let it all go. Rewrite your story in this book with nothing but love. And when you get to where you are now, don’t stop. Keep going, Keep creating. Create the things you wish existed. If you can do this with nothing but love in your heart, with intentions of service to others, your dreams will come true. Always choose faith over fear. Your Angels are near.”

Sol hugged her tightly, thanking her, and the bright light slowly started to fade away as she returned to her breathing and opened her eyes. She took out the little black book and began rewriting her story. Piece by piece the tears turned to smiles and laughter. When she reminisced on the seemingly bad days, she continued to write a new ending of acceptance and gratitude for all of the experiences and wisdom gained. For each person she wrote how much she loved and appreciated them, apologized without hesitation, and forgave regardless of if any apologies every made their way to her. Little by little the weight began lifting off of her shoulders. She felt lighter and freer than she ever had before. Visions for the healing center started to pour in again. It had been so long since she could see it so clearly. “Let go and flow.” The words replayed in her mind. She stood tall against the fear that her dreams were out of reach, or that she wasn’t worthy of accomplishing them. She knew now that when she felt fear that she was close to a breakthrough and it was merely the enemy trying to bring her back. Page by page the little black book continued to fill in with the visions of True North. It was a vision that only Sol could see for sometime, finally coming to life on paper. She wrote about the Healing House that offers all kinds of healing arts from yoga to meditation to sound therapy, a greenhouse and farm to table restaurant, the Beekeeping and Butterfly Garden area, “OH! “she paused.

“I see houses? Smaller Healing Houses where people can come visit and stay or even live on the land.” The more she let go the more she began to allow her heart to speak. “This is bigger than I can even imagine.” she stated. It was clear that this was not something she would be able to do alone.

“It takes a village” flashed in her mind as she began to write out everyone from Electricians, to Builders, to Healing Facilitators. She paused, backed away from the notebook, and started to realize that everything and everyone that she needed was already here. She had spent so much time focused on the hurt and pain that she was missing all that was already right in front of her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood tall as she felt a feeling of hope and support that she hadn’t felt in so long. Then, the doorbell rang.

She walked to the kitchen door, opening to a man she had never seen before. “Hello, I am Danny Voll, Brenda’s Trusted Advisor. I am here to deliver this to you.”

Another little black notebook? Sol tried to ask questions but Danny insisted that she simply read the notebook. Sol opened up the notebook and began reading.

“Dear Sol,

Danny asked “Do you agree to this offer?” As tears filled her eyes, Sol spoke a simple “Yes” as she held the little black book close to her heart. “Thank you” She said. “Thank you.”

It’s been two years since Sol last saw Brenda in a vision, but her spirit is alive within True North. Helping the hurting find healing every day, Brenda’s vision continues to expand all over the world offering a space that stands for all that she was and still is. The true healer: Love.
