There is nothing more disappointing then realising that you could have achieved more if you only sticked to what you believed in. If you only did what you know you needed to do to get closer to your goals. Do you really need to get to the point of asking yourself 'what if I was more....' or 'If I only didn't stop.... '.

Small Steps Will Add Up

First off what is it that you want to achieve, become or learn. Knowing this is important to know which steps you would need to take to get there. Also make it clear to yourself why it is important for you to do this. Then make a plan on how you will get there, be specific on the times, dates, when and where, duration, time limit.... And then make realistic steps that you can follow doesn't matter how small the step looks to you as long as you can be consistent with it. The point is to get disciplined and to get better overtime.

Be realistic but challenge yourself overtime. How bad do you want it?

Reaching New Heights

Becoming disciplined and consistent will get you closer to your goal. But make sure your also well learned and informed about what you want to achieve. Get confident in your ability to achieve your goal by being consistent and get your mindset to be on the right track by being disciplined. Your comfort zone needs to get broken if you want to get better. Don't be afraid to fail, but be afraid to give up on your goals. Failure is the part that you have to overcome to be successful.

Roadmap To Discipline

Make a plan you can follow.

1. Start to write down what you want to achieve.

2. Then write down what you need to be able to do to achieve that.

3. Then break down what you need to do in steps that you can do on a consistent basis. Make sure with time you make it more challenging for yourself. Don't try to make it comfortable but if it is needed to make a beginning or to make sure you will follow it. Then make it comfortable.

4. Give each of these steps an amount of time each day, week, month or year you need to do them. The more specific it is, the easier it will be to follow and know what to do (for example by adding time and date, location , duration....).

5. Write down in how much time you want to achieve this, be realistic. Make sure that you put milestones in between the time you want to achieve your goal. Don't get demotivated if you don't reach your milestones, make sure you keep progressing forward. These milestones are there to make sure that you keep on track and to keep you focussed especially for long term goals.

6. Make sure when you have it planned out and written down that it is clear what you need to do and when. How much time each day, week, month or year. The location and duration and the time limit for each goal. The more structured it is the better it will be for yourself in the long term. Make it in a way that you can mark it each time you did it in that time so you can track how many times you did it on that week, month or year.

7. Print it out (if written is also good) and have it somewhere visible were you are sure you see it each day. Keep track of it each day, week or month depending on what works best for your goal.

Extra tip: maybe make something that when you look at it or wear something (bracelet, necklace, ring) you wear specifically during this period of your goal which should remind you each time you wear it on or see it.
