9 Signs You're an Alpha Male
Sometimes a strong leader is felt in a person at first sight. This means that we subconsciously read certain behavior.
The term "alpha male" has been heavily vulgarized by pick-up artists. Many believe that this is a humanoid King Kong, who grabs females and drags them to his lair without further ado. Although in the animal world this term has a much more interesting meaning.
The alpha male is the leader of the group, a charismatic and self-confident leader who is not only and not so much feared as respected and adored by all the other members of the pack. Of course, such a leader also has direct and unlimited access to females.
No less interesting is the fact that alphas are not only engaged in reproduction and the struggle for power, but also constantly solve the problems facing the pack. They are the first to get all sorts of side bonuses from a successful solution of problems - edible and inedible. It is not a fact that the alpha is able to eat all this or at least somehow use it, but he must accept the bonus, just to consolidate his position.
Another interesting fact is that most pack animals (and humans are no exception) are able to subconsciously determine the status of an unfamiliar relative by his behavior. What do we see?
1. Alphas have the best sense of hierarchy.
One of the main features of the alpha male is that he has a very developed social intelligence. Alpha loves group meetings with friends, team sports and even work meetings. He instantly takes a leadership position in the new group.
This is largely due to the fact that the alpha feels the hierarchy very well.
Even in an unfamiliar established team, alpha instantly determines the leader, his "lieutenants" - beta males, as well as middle-aged deltas and always on strike and offended gamma males. Well, then he challenges the existing leader, wins beta males over to his side, pats deltas and gammas on the shoulder (which, by the way, can become a support for a coup).
If you can clearly see all these roles, not only at work, but also in TV shows, in the company of friends or strangers, there are good chances that you are an alpha.
2. They look attractive.
Of course, not all alphas are born six feet tall and athletic. However, the alpha male will extract the maximum from the genetic material given to him by nature: if necessary, he will go to the rocking chair, learn to dress neatly and coolly and keep his back straight.
It is clear that the appearance is just a small part of the alpha's charm, but even he does not neglect it.
3. They either take a leadership position or actively work in this direction.
There is no such thing as an "assistant" for an alpha. They are born leaders and do not feel happy as the right hand of even a very strong leader.
Very often, less active members of society see this as a selfish struggle for power, however, for a real alpha, it is not so much the throne that matters as the success of the entire community. "What can I do to help us win?" is a typical question that a true leader asks himself. Alpha is looking for models of more effective leadership, working strategies for the development of the group - in other words, he wants every hunt of the pack to be successful and that even the most shabby members have food. That is why he is loved and not feared.
4. Alpha males are extremely confident.
These are the most confident people you will ever meet. New project? Uncharted territory? An unfamiliar woman? Alpha's motto is "Forward and with a song!".
Sometimes it seems that they are even too self-confident. By the way, if you are asking this question, then you are most likely a reflective gamma. For an alpha, there is no question of whether he is skilled enough, attractive enough, or physically capable of doing something. You have to try it and we'll figure it out.
5. They use dominant body language.
There are certain positions that the leader takes. His back is as straight as possible, his hands on his belt - so the person looks bigger. Hands crossed behind the back demonstrate self-confidence and invulnerability - the alpha does not need to cover its sensitive places, because no one will dare to attack.
Also, leaders are characterized by a confident look in the eye and a firm handshake.
6. They are extroverts.
Some alphas are born right away with the happy ability to enjoy and shine in human society. And some people have a hard time cultivating this skill in themselves, and then they become ambiverts, that is, people who enjoy both communication and loneliness.
In any case, a person who wants to be a leader in a certain group must be able to communicate with the people. It's unavoidable.
7. They see the future.
Here we, of course, do not mean fortune-telling on cards. Alphas are great strategists, they can calculate how the situation will develop and come up with an innovative solution. A great example is Steve Jobs with his touchscreen, which made the computer interface intuitive even for children.
The alpha always has a development plan that will lead to the success of not only the leader himself but the whole tribe. The implementation of this plan, and not at all the struggle for power, is the main goal of the alpha leader.
8. Women love them.
To give birth to cubs from an alpha (no less successful in the future) is a natural instinct of any female. However, even taking into account the natural polygamy of alphas, their hands do not reach all the females of the tribe, but only the most attractive ones. Therefore, the attention of the leader is a kind of crown of the beauty queen, for which it is not a sin to compete with other females!
As a rule, alpha spends all his youth in the status of a lonely don Juan, and only closer to old age can he settle down and start a family. Which does not exclude periodic intrigues on the side!
9. They are not afraid of a fight.
The leadership position is so important to alphas that they are ready to go into open conflict if someone provokes them. There must be order in the tribe at any cost! Under the order of alpha, they mean a clear hierarchy, when the leadership is busy managing, and not fighting for power. Therefore, any person rocking the boat will be thrown overboard. However, if the troublemaker apologizes to the alpha and recognizes his superiority, then most likely he will be forgiven because strong people are valuable to the team.
