2021 THE YEAR OF APPLICATION

Lessons and Practices for a New Lifestyle

By Mara Kilifi ScanlonPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

2021 is the year of application. The year I start putting into action all the lessons and wisdom I’ve gained from all the years before. 2020 is now behind me but the lessons and awareness it brought will never be forgotten. Yes it was very painful, yes it was scary and challenging, and It was an experience most, if not all of us wouldn’t ever want to relive again but I have challenged myself to see all the Gems of awareness it brought to not only me but everyone worldwide that we can now apply on our new journey in 2021.

For one, it reminded me of how important our relationship with Nature and Mother Earth is. 2nd, It Reminded me to be more mindful of the choices I make because it can also have a direct affect on those I love and also all the beautiful creatures we share this planet with. 3rd, It reminded me to have more fun and not be so consume with material things and work. 4th, it Reminded me that time and death doesn’t wait for no one no matter how much we beg and cry. 5th and most importantly it reminded me to start living my life for myself, doing the things that makes me happy and brings my soul peace.

Like I said 2021 is the year of application. I will never again take for granted the vessel in which I reside (My Body), the headquarters in which I process information (My mind), and The Core in which I draw my inspirations (My Soul). My days now start at 5am. I rise before the sun and dedicate the first hour paying thanks to my body by exercising. Then I dedicate the second hour silencing my mind and connecting with my higher self to gain all I can from within through Meditation and Yoga before interacting with the outside world. I then sit by the window to appreciate the silence of the world while watching the sun wake from its sleep greeting me as it rises and brings forth a new day. Lastly I have dedicated the third hour to the expression of my Soul through writing. This will be my daily practice of Self love and self awareness. I am now aware of how my energy, rather it be good or bad can have an affect on the energy of others. So by starting my day with this new daily practice, I am doing my part for the collective good of everyone and everything around me. To follow up my daily practice I am stepping into my power to manifest. I have learned that the best way to manifest what it is you want is to first create a vision board , hang it up, and the step back and let it be. Live in the moment being grateful for what you have, meanwhile believing that everything you want is already yours and on its way to you. No chasing, just gratefulness in the belief that it’s already yours. I created My vision board during the third hour. My vision board contains things I want to manifest for myself. I know that I am the creator and narrator of my life, so anything and everything that I want I must first believe I deserve it and then walk towards the path in which I will receive it. I have vowed to have more fun and spend more time doing the things I love with the people I love. Make time to enjoy and connect with nature and mother earth. Rather it be taking a bike ride in the woods, going for a hike, walking in the backyard bare footed, or just sitting taking in the beautiful sceneries in my surroundings. It has now been 21 days since I started my new daily practice and I am already feeling the changes and seeing the results in my relationships and in my spiritual growth. The way I start my day have led me to making better choices in other areas of my life. I am more mindful of the food I put into my body, more mindful of the information I accept into my mind and more mindful of the relationships I’ve accepted into my life. I am excited for my 2021 journey and the new lessons it has to offer. I vow to commit to making this my new lifestyle. Being open to every experience as a learning tool and being more aware of my energy and self love practice. In the words of Gahndi,” We have to be the change we want to see in the world”. In order to see and make a difference in the world we have to first start with ourselves. We can’t give fully to others what we do not give ourselves. So I leave you with these last words, True Love and Happiness must start from you to you.
