10 Signs You Are Becoming Your Better Self

When You Become a Better Version of Yourself

By Emma AdePublished about a year ago 3 min read

We rarely pay attention to certain things until we get significant results but there are certain signs that you might be turning into a better version of yourself. The following signs tell you how much you have evolved and become a better person.

1. You're More Aware of Your Thoughts and Actions

If you discover that you are more in tune with your thoughts and emotions, you have become a better person. This awareness helps you understand your triggers and make you act more consciously and this in turn will improve your relationships and decision-making skills.

2. You Manage Your Emotions Better

If you have come to terms with managing your emotions more effectively, you have become a better version of yourself. It even gets better when you master controlling your emotions in difficult situations. It means you now rarely act on your impulses but hold yourself and take a step back to respond mindfully.

3. You Have Become More Resilient

When you have become so resilient that difficult times don’t knock you down easily again, it means you have become a better version of yourself. It means your resilience makes you more efficient in handling setbacks, making you bounce back stronger.

4. You Leant to Develop Healthy Relationships

If you constantly attract unhealthy relationships, you need to work on yourself. But when you constantly attract healthier and more supportive relationships, you have become a better version of yourself.

Developing healthier relationships means you have learned to set clear boundaries, practice empathy more, and attract people who bring out the best in you.

5. You Learn to Accept Yourself

If you no longer talk about yourself in a derogatory manner, it means you have become your better self. It means you are more forgiving and kinder to yourself and this will boost your mental wellness and self-esteem.

6. You Have Developed the Growth Mindset

Before now, you can be easily bogged down when you are faced with overwhelming challenges. Now, you see challenges as opportunities for growth, hence you tend to learn more and stay curious to be your better self.

7. You Begin to Prioritize Yourself More

Prioritizing others in certain situations is important because it shows how empathetic you are. However, prioritizing others to the detriment of your health and mental well-being can be catastrophic. You can only prioritize others well when you stabilize your own mental, health and self-care. By achieving stable mental well-being, you are closer to achieving your goals and helping others to better themselves.

8. You Don’t Get Trapped in Comparisons

Most people get trapped in comparing themselves with others especially when they are moved by what they see others share on social media. When you are no longer obsessed with comparing yourself with others but celebrate your own progress and focus on your life, you will certainly become a better version of yourself.

9. You Found a Purpose

You become a better version of yourself when you start aligning yourself with your values and principles. Finding your purpose means living with greater intention and meaning.

10. You Don’t Have the Need to Have Many Friends

It’s good to have friends who can support you especially in difficult moments but having too many friends that put emotional and mental strain on you can surely drive you crazy. Independent-minded people have learned to do most things themselves without relying on others. You may never realize your inner strength until you become more independent.

Bottom Line

Becoming a better version of yourself is achievable by learning and improving on your character, and thoughts daily. Psychology teaches us that our subconscious mind determines our beliefs and attitude towards life, hence the need to retrain our minds to better ourselves.

I like the cover photo you chose, it’s eye catching. Being aware of my thoughts and action was a very big deal for me, it lets me know that I am not off balance, which puts me in a better mood; and like you said, it improves decision making skills. I really like #6 it’s the one I am currently focusing on today Well written and thoughtful as always 🤗
