Long ago a young bird sat in a gilded cage singing so sweetly, she sang all day and cheeped and chirped. Never asking for anything, food and water were always there the hand that reached in never tried to harm her stroke or even hold her. So she sang she warbled and never faulted in her notes. Singing so beautifully in appreciation for her care.
One day a great storm rose, clouds boiled and rolled, day became night, a ferocious wind howled, knocking her cage from its safety perch, she screeched and squawked but no one came, the door of her cage flew open and she flew around inside her cage fearful of being swept away. Food and water spilled everywhere and she had no one to pick her up and make her world right again. The wind stopped the clouds began to shift and a ray of sunshine glinted off her beautiful golden feathers, she sat on the edge of her gilded cage and began to sing for the first time in her life she had no bars in front of her and her world looked different. could she fly or would she not have the courage or strength to do it?
What if she could not find food?
What if she could not find water?
She stretched her tiny wings and began to lift outside she flew but not out into the open only around the small outside of her gilded cage. She landed on her cage her tiny heart beating with joy and fear.
Resting for a few minutes singing she tried again this time out to a branch she could see and then she landed letting out a whistling song like she had never sung before. She had never known this outside and she loved it.
She looked back at her cage for a moment and then flew higher into another branch and then another with every beat of her wings she became more beautiful she glowed with joy. She sat singing in her new song tones and many others began singing with her.
This was a song of joy she suddenly knew what had been in her songs for so long, undertones of sadness for the beauty of her soul song. she was now free to be herself in all her beauty and song. She knew now she could accept her freedom without fear and she would be okay
A reflection and insight followed me remembering this story and our own gilded cages, how often we won't or can't step outside of our safety zone.
As began to reflect on this I see how with the stories we hold onto, the things we tell ourselves or have heard since childhood, some story or belief that is either crafted from advertising or a family member, caregiver, teacher or another child that has settled into our subconscious. Its been imprinted into our belief system.
As we grow older we often feel irrational fears around something or someone that we cannot shake off, this can keep us in a place of complacency or stuckness that we aren't always aware of. From my own experiences, I have seen how it can play out in daily life and how our body depending on what the story or belief is can react to it. It could be a feeling of not being good enough yet you know you are or a feeling that if you speak your truth or honesty you will be killed for it.
There are as many twists on feelings and stories as there are unique people, yet it often comes back to the feeling of not being loved, lovable, enough, or worthy or worth it etc. I see from my deep reflective inner exploring of this that this is a crossroads a wakeup moment in our spiritual growth it is giving us permission to break free from the energetic gilded cage. Allowing you to become the best version of yourself while having the boundaries so you are not continually sacrificing or being the martyr. You are giving yourself permission to be seen and heard, to be loved and lovable, to be perfectly imperfect just as you are. No longer fearing your uniqueness and the judgements of others. Metaphorically and physically letting your soul sing, freeing your words to be heard freeing yourself to be seen.
Of course, I speak of this as a spiritual and energetic thing, and not if you are living in a dangerous situation this is another matter and one you must always be mindful of looking out for your safety.
In our growth and future evolution there are many things from our history that we are being shown to reintroduce, listening to the wisdom of nature, the plant and animal kingdoms both have insights and guidance to share. Understanding the seasons and the cycles of rain and the tides. Being intune once again.
Listening to our heart and body, not just being a mind but a body and soul too.
we are at this time in this new energy being given the key to release so many of the ancestral beliefs that are no longer relevant to us and the old past life energy that has come through with us into this life.
Yes I said past life we all have them and I am as part of my own letting go of the gilded cage no longer going to hide that I believe in past lives and the retrieval of the soul fragment we have left in that past lifetime.
This is soul healing and for me, it is letting go of the gilded cage.
Reflecting on all of this I have realised how judgement and fear have always played a big part in my gilded cage and the fear of being seen.
I urge you if any of this speaks to you on a soul level then seek out the help of someone who can hold energetic space for you to explore this deeper and who has the skill to help you bring back your soul fragments, if you don't have this skill of your own.
As always these are my personal reflections and may not be yours and that is perfect it is how it should be.
Until next time we meet. May you enjoy your soul seeking journey of letting go and coming home.
