Eat Organic to Live Longer
The American diet is made up of animal products. Americans believe animal products are a healthy food source because of the protein in meat, dairy, and eggs. Young children are taught to drink their milk because they need to grow and have strong bones. The USDA has a food pyramid showing two to three servings of dairy, eggs, and meat a day, that is almost every meal. As well as taste and appearance, animal products are packaged so they are easy to cook at home. But what Americans are not aware of is the way these animal products are made so they taste good. Cows, pigs, chickens, and all other animals that are farmed to be eaten are pumped up with antibiotics and hormones in order for them to appear more appetizing. Consuming these antibiotics and hormones leads to health problems such as resisting antibiotics prescribed by your doctor, as well as early puberty development in girls. However, there was a time before the industrial era when all food was made naturally, or organically. And today, there are many farms and grocery stores that provide organic animal products. If Americans start buying more organic products, eventually there will be less animal products processed with hormones and antibiotics. Then one day, everything will be made organically. Antibiotics and hormones would only be used in doctor’s offices and hospitals. The American people will be more natural and healthy again.

All Natural Food Finds
Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine have been making healthier versions of "tv dinners" for many years. They have steamers, they have desserts, they have just about everything. A while back I was in my local Stop & Shop and realized they have something else—they have ALL NATURAL dinners. Normally I don't shop in the frozen food area except maybe to buy produce in the off season. I was walking by and I saw a 5/$10 sign and then of course on select varieties a 6/$10 with a "must by six" label. Intrigued, I went to the case and I was completely shocked to see these all natural frozen dinner choices. There are others available, these just happen to be the four that I decided to try.

What Is Kava?
Kava is integrally interwoven into the history and culture of the Hawaiian Islands, playing an important role in rituals and sacred ceremonies. Upon arriving in Wilemea Bay on the Garden Isle of Kauai, Captain Cook became the first white man to sample the mysterious liquor of the royal Hawaiian Kings.

Natural Medicines
"Natural Medicine" This is a catch all term used by a wide variety of therapists and even pharmaceutical big business. My definition of “natural medicine” is the use and application of therapeutic interventions that do not involve synthetic or artificial substances.

Plant Based Lifestyle–One Year Later
One year ago today, I embarked on a journey that has totally changed my life. After suffering in pain for 21 years after a car accident, and finding no relief through conventional medicine, I sought alternative methods. I asked the Divine for help. I was using a cane and a wheelchair seemed to be in my near future. I knew I had a trip to Italy coming up in 11-12 months. Something had to shift.

Healthy and Healthy for You are Two Different Things
If you were to go on ten different health or weight loss websites, you are likely to find ten different approaches to achieving your goal. One may stress that going vegetarian or vegan is the best diet. Someone else may recommend an all raw foods diet. One expert will tell you to eliminate all carbs while another will be just as adamant that healthy whole grains are absolutely necessary for health. And on and on it goes!

Garlic and Onions: Two Foods With a Medicinal Kick
On June 7th, 2017 the University of Guelph announced the findings of Prof. Suresh Neethirajan’s work with onions and the plant's ability to create a hostile environment for cancer cells in the body. Onions are an organic sulfur food, containing some powerful flavonoids. Flavonoids in the most simple explanation are the workhorse part of an antioxidant (Dimitrios, B. 2006). Antioxidants and flavonoids are highly researched because of anti-carcinogenic and anti-cancer properties (Borek, C. 1997; Le Marchand, L., Murphy, S. P., Hankin, J. H., Wilkens, L. R., & Kolonel, L. N. 2000; Lautraite, S., Musonda, A. C., Doehmer, J., Edwards, G. O., & Chipman, J. K. 2002). Onions contain two strong flavonoids, Anthocyanin and Quercetin. Years of research from around the globe has shown that Quercetin is a viable anti-cancer agent (Brisdelli, F., Coccia, C., Cinque, B., Cifone, M. G., & Bozzi, A. (2007) which is strengthened by Anthocyanin, which gives fruit color. While all onions contain this combination of flavonoids, red onions have the highest concentration of Anthocyanin.

The Most Important Skincare Step: Serums
Most cleansing routines look like this: remove your makeup with a cleanser. Exfoliated dead skin cells away and restore the pH balance with a toner. The chances are you're reaching for your moisturizer next. Most people do. But, serums are the best step in any skincare routine, no matter if your skin is oily, dry, or acne prone. A good serum can take your skin from good to great and a high-quality one is worth the investment.
