Meditation 101
Why should you meditate? I feel like the people around me frequently ask why I meditate and what it even does, or they ask how they can get into it. Meditating at first can feel intimidating. There are also multiple types of meditation and it may take a few tries to figure out what resonates with you at this point in your life.

Being Spiritual in a Distracted World
What's up New Age Thinkers! It has been a while since I've posted. Just to give you an update on my life, I finally graduated from my university, with two degrees, I was able to find a position in my field and now I'm establishing my self in my mundane career. I've been finding that, although I am extremely spiritual, my way of life is being attacked by the everyday distractions of our world. As the title states, this blog is going to talk about the ways we can incorporate some basic and introductory spiritual practices in your life so that you can either start, continue, or get back on the bandwagon of spiritual life!

Cord Cutting Meditation
Cord Cutting Meditation Victoria LaPointe Mirror Dragon The purpose of this exercise is to get you to a place where you can recognize what you feel like withOUT the woven energy of others we carry with us and interact with all the time. Once you recognize what your Self feels like, you can tell which feelings, emotions, and physical pain is yours, and which is not. Empathic people have a tendency to own energy that doesn’t belong to them. I think it’s important to be able to tell the difference.

Mirror Dragon Tarot (Part 4)
Meditation: Snowy Evening Begin by settling in to your meditation position. Get comfortable, breathe in feelings of calm and begin to release any tensions on the outgoing breath. Breathe in deeply, filling your lungs. Feel your diaphragm expand with brilliant, healing light. See your stress, frustration, exhaustion or confusion pulling together and combining into the light. Then see it flow out with your exhale bursting into tiny, flashing sparks as it dissipates into the atmosphere. Feel the air around you clearing and healing with this transformation. Stay with this clearing process until you feel ready to bring your consciousness into your sacred space.

3 Easy Steps to Get You Started with Meditation
The M word: meditation. We have all heard of it before. Maybe you heard Dr. Phil or an internet guru talking about its benefits and how it could change your life. Maybe you have had some interest in it but no time to invest into learning about it and grabbing the “gear.” Welp I have been there and resonate with your pain. Like you, I thought meditation was some holistic skill I wasn’t capable of doing. I was this way for a very long time until I discovered a YouTube video that quite honestly changed my life. This video gave me the insight I needed to start meditation. This led me to take the leap into the rabbit hole we call “Self-Care.” I learned a lot in that rabbit hole, but this blog is not about the rabbit hole, but actually about how to prep yourself for that jump in. These 3 easy steps I have listed below are what personally helped me and millions to get started in their meditation journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Meditation
The point with this exercise is to begin set up an atmosphere of acceptance and communication between what you experience (typical right-brain information gathering) and the way in which you then fit that experience into the format of language and expression (typical left-brain, intellectual structure).

Meditation Space
Meditation can be used for many reasons. The ability to step out of our everyday, demanding or stressful or regulated environment allows us to disconnect from the frustration and confusion they can inspire. There are many studies showing the benefits of meditation to relieve stress and improve our physical health as well as our mental clarity. Creativity, empathy and greater spiritual connection are some of the other side benefits of including some form of meditation in our routines. Creating a specially designated space where we have the peace to really relax goes a long way in facilitating the addition of a meditation routine into our busy lives.
